Hi Ladies, I've been so pee'd off the last few days, my sinus infection has returned and it's driving me bats, lots of horrible stuff in the morning when I wake up, and its killing my throat........so can I take anything for it, over the counter stuff??? I usually use a spray which normally clears it up before it gets to the point of needing an antibiotic, but the spray say's 'DO NOT USE WHEN PREGNANT'!!!!!! And cant get a doctors appointment until next week, any tips ladies how to get rid of this horrible stuff.........cheers ladies.

I had to get antibiotics for mine at the same stage, like you I had been self medicating with the spray but my GP told me off as it makes you more dehydrated and makes the infection worse.

Can you get an emergency appointment, or phone your out of hours service, or go to a walk in clinic at the hospital?

I have got a steam inhaler that I got from Boots. I put boiling water in it and breathe the steam in through my nose. I use it pregnant or not, and use it at the first sniff of a cold and I used it to get relief from hayfever this year, as I couldnt / didn't want to take anything as I'm prg this summer.
I don't know if it would help you too?

I swear by honey and lemon linctus you get it from most pharmacies. It can be taken while pregnant and breastfeeding which I have been either for the past two years. Its not the strongest of things but definatley soothes. Im sure you can take paracetamol during pregnancy too.

See Gp and get infection properly sorted, if recurrent should be treated seriously. Long term unresolved sinus infections can travel and can albeit rarely cause more serious infections.

Thanks ladies, looks like I'm going to have to stage a sit in at the docs, the after hours is terrible blackteaplease, they will tell me to wait until I can see my doctor next week as they only deal with emergencies :-(.....its just driving me nuts, my throat is killing me, can hardly swallow, so I'm going to go and sit at the gp's until someone gives in to seeing me.....I think your right purplesprouting, probably needs to be treated now at this stage....thanks again ladies....
