I am almost 32 weeks pregnant. Over the past 2 days I have been experiencing reduced fetal movements. I still feel some movements just not at the same level as they were before, the movements now are quite slight. I went to hosptial today and was monitored for about an hour, it showed a normal heartbeat and movement as well. However they are suggesting I come back tomorrow to be monitored again. Has any one else had this experience and what was the outcome?

No experience of this hun but wanted you to know we're thinking of you. Maybe it's because it's so big? Have they estimated the size of the baby?

could it possibly be because your baby is getting bigger and there isnt much room for him/her to move around as much

good luck tomorrow x

Good luck for tomorrow and try not to worry. Its good they are looking after you and monitoring things and be able to put your mind at ease. I had less movements as time went by and like others say think it was just down to the baby getting bigger...I had healthy dd with no problems.

Cori, I had this at about 32 weeks with my dd. I went in for a few days like you are doing and the fetal monitoring was fine (they respond well to the soundwaves!). After a few days I was given a unit to take home with me and monitor the baby every morning for 20 minutes (after a big drink of iced water which always jolted the baby awake - have you tried it?) You then plugged it into the phone line and it sent a message to the hospital for them to monitor. Basically they said I was feeling the movements less but it was still moving as mmuch (but from 7 months they are more wiggles than kicks due to lack of space). They should be able to reassure you about this. I hope the movements pick up a lot to save you all the hospital visits, but it might be worth asking about doing it at home if you keep having to go back. Good Luck - thinking of you!

Hi,
I feel a bit better about it today, can definetly feel more movements again. I didnt go to the hospital this morning as I feel a bit more reassured. Hockeymum, I like that idea of a monitor that sends a messge direct to hospital, I dont know if they do that at Hillingdon though. I have a midwife appointment tomorrow at the hospital so i will ask them to put me on the monitor then

Good luck at the hospital today Cori :)

I think this is really normal and I experienced it at this time. As others have said I'm sure it's to do with baby being bigger.

The hospital were very re-assuring with me and would have let me go in to be monitored anytime but I only needed it the once. Good luck!!
