Hi i'm 27+4 weeks, over the last few days baby's movement have been getting less and less, yesterday and friday didnt feel baby move, now got some discomfort in ribcage when sat down. i know i've been a bit stressed recently, had my lil boys 4th birthday yesterday, and also trying to clear out the kitchen ready for the council coming this week to demolish it and put in a new kitchen in. Any advise or help as to why baby has slowed down/stopped moving.

Glad to hear everything is OK, good luck with the scan.

cbd do your hosp have a policy of only montiering after certain weeks - mine only moniters after 28.

minceorotherwise · 30/07/2012 21:19

Make sure you stay on the monitor for a trace not just a heart beat 'check'
Hope alls well

Completly agree with the last two posters, it was ds2's heart trace that showed him in severe distress. The Doc said no point putting a trace on as i was only 28 wks & it would be inconclusive, thankfully an experienced midwife overruled him as the songropher had been unable to prompt any movement during the scan.
The trace was conclusive in that it picked up regular unprovoked decellerations (sp) that were very slow to recover.
He was born by emergency C section 2 hrs later & very poorly.

I wish I had gone to hopsital 2 days earlier when i first noticed a reduction in movements as maybe my son would not be braindamaged and disabled now.

I am only adding this as a warning to others (not intended to scare) to listen to their body, the OP has done the right thing & been checked out & all is well but it is always worth while checking.
Better one wasted hospitla visit than a lifetime of hospital visits as in my sons case.

i phoned the assessment centre again tonight, and got told to go in for another checkup. was put on trace and heatbeat monitoring for an hour this time, baby is having a big wiggle session, so could be possibly moving position again which is why i may not be feeling movement so much at the moment. The dr has given me some tablets to relieve the pain in my chest, and i got a scan on the 6th Aug to check everything is going well baby is measuring big so definitely growing ok i'm 27+4 but baby is measuring 31
