Feeling sorry for myself here, 7 weeks and feeling so so sick. Also an emetophobic :( Does sickness sometimes go away earlier than 14 weeks? Just looking for stories to cheer me up.

Mine has only just started and I'm 7 weeks :-( so in thinking there's no real set time for anyone.

cakeandcava · 26/07/2012 15:26

Disappeared around the 13-14 weeks mark. It sucks, I know. Just have to repeat the mantra, 'this too shall pass'.
Oranges, ginger beer (non alcoholic) and salt&vinegar crisps worked for me in making it slightly better...

gardenpixies32 · 26/07/2012 15:34

Sorry to say that mine only finished at about 18 weeks. I feel fine now and the feelings of utter awfulness are a distant memory now.

Sheldonella · 26/07/2012 15:36

Thanks for the replies. Being at work is the worst thing. How do/did you manage at work?

Mine got slightly better after 22 weeks. I stopped vomiting every morning and instead was only sick if my blood sugar levels dropped.

PogoBob · 26/07/2012 15:37

sorry mine didn't go until 16 weeks! good luck, there's a lot of good threads on here with tips for easing it.

PeazlyPops · 26/07/2012 15:41

Around 17 weeks for me. Plenty of fizzy water and BBQ beef hula hoops helped.

amybelle1990 · 26/07/2012 16:16

About 25 weeks- frozen coca cola ice cubes worked a treat.

Dorisday13 · 26/07/2012 20:28

Mine went at 9.5weeks, hope you start feeling better soon xx

Jakeyblueblue · 26/07/2012 20:33

20 weeks Grin

happygilmore · 26/07/2012 20:33

20 weeks here, although retched for a few weeks after that. Hope it passes for you soon.

CPtart · 26/07/2012 20:37

Around 15-16 weeks with DS1
After delivery with DS2!!!

Panzee · 26/07/2012 21:22

11 weeks or so, both times. Sweets helped me at work, small sugar hits.

KeepYerTitsIn · 26/07/2012 21:25

16 weeks, with occasional sickness until the births.

devonsmummy · 26/07/2012 21:27

20 long miserable weeks then it eased but still retched lots.Sad

Funnywonder · 26/07/2012 21:38

About 16 weeks. It didn't disappear overnight ... I just found the range of foods I felt able to eat gradually increasing. When I was craving curry I knew I was finally OK! Ice lollies were really helpful when I felt sick, as were plain cereal bars and sour sweets. Anything dairy made it worse.

Some day soon, it'll be a distant memory and you'll be googling cures for heartburn! It's not pleasant, but nowhere near as bad as the sickness ... well, for me anyway. Hope you're feeling better soon.

Sheldonella · 26/07/2012 21:40

Oh I hope I'm one of the lucky ones! I feel a bit better tonight after having potato waffles and fish fingers for dinner. I think I'm going to stick to very bland foods tomorrow. It's a shame because I really want a curry :)

Wotsits helped me... though by the time I'd told the office they'd all guessed as it was the ONLY thing I could eat because they were string enough to take that taste away! They also assumed my baby would be ginger which to be honest she kind of is

SpringFlowers · 27/07/2012 09:13

I had a month off work with awful nausea. I couldn't get out of bed and I couldn't cope at work at all. It was easier to manage at home and however lousy time off feels it can really help. This week things have really improved and I rarely feel sick - I'm 15 weeks now. I thought this day would never come. I felt sick straight away - from four weeks but it reached a peak at nine weeks and was terrible until 13 weeks. I am so relieved it hasn't continued.

Sheldonella · 27/07/2012 09:30

Eek, I've just been to the doctors for my hospital booking and I told the doc about the sickness. She said it's a bit early for it and it could be twins! It started at 6 weeks. This is not unusual, is it?

Oh and I got 3+ on a clearblue digital the day before I thought I should too. I'm pretty certain I know when I ovulated. Oh I'm scared now!

I am 6 weeks today and I have been feeling sick for 2 days now, and vomited for the first time this morning....so it can start as early as 6 weeks! I had an early scan on Wednesday too and only one baby in there so don't panic just yet Smile

Panzee · 27/07/2012 12:23

6 weeks is not unusual at all.

applepieinthesky · 27/07/2012 15:38

Started at about 7 weeks until 18 weeks.

Chunkychicken · 27/07/2012 16:15

My Mum says she felt sick the day after she conceived with me so although feeling sicker earlier can be a sign of twins, it isn't always!! Can't remember when it started for me, but was definitely feeling very, very sick, very often by the time I had my MW booking in appt at 8wks.

With both my DD & this current pg, I felt sick until about 13-14wks, although I can still randomly vomit even now at 23wks. I was much more sick this time around.

I sucked boiled sweets, drank lucozade original, ate very regularly, and ate whatever I fancied (whether it was bbq pringles, chip butty or a curry) as the nausea led to some strong cravings/aversions, another thing that didn't happen with my DD.
