CharleyAB · 25/07/2012 13:00

Hi all,

I'm 20 weeks tomorrow and have my 20 week scan now and I'm really scared.

Not of the procedure but of what they find :(

Is it usual to be worried?

Thanks

C x

If any consolation I'm 19 weeks and have mine next Weds and I have THE FEAR, despite having heard the HB last week. I'm obsessed with feeling movement and not only am I not sure if I have but I'm not sure if I have and I've stopped...... So no, you are not alone!!!!

Perfectly normal!! It is very reassuring when it's over, if that's any consolation!

And you get more pics of your baby too!

Good luck!

Normal to be apprehensive. Just try and concentrate on the positive - you're going to see your LO and get some lovely piccies. Smile

Yes, normal to be nervous and apprehensive. Just try to enjoy the scan and seeing your little one :)

Yes - I had horrid dreams about them finding severe abnormalities and having to make horrible decisions. Felt like death on the day. It's lovely though - very different to the first scan. Lots of close ups of feet and limbs and it's clearly recognisable as a child rather than a squelchy blob.

There's a whole load of us with the same worries, come and say hi if you like :)

Completely normal to be shitting yourself concerned. I was 10 days ago, especially as he was hiding and i had to go back a week later!

Totally normal, you are so much further along and I had felt the baby move by then and was obviously pregnant, told friends etc. I was almost more anxious than about the 12 week scan because finding something wrong at that stage would have been so much more heartbreaking (for me anyway and I had had 2 losses) and would have probably much harder decisions.

The scan was brilliant, so detailed and wonderful. I told the sonographer I was nervous and she was great at explaining each part she was checking and reassuring me at each stage that all was well, not waiting until the end. She spent ages on the heart because the baby was in a funny position and she reasurred me that it was not because there was anything wrong, just that she could not see the bits she needed to. It ended up being one of the best days of my life and I am still teary when I think about it.
Try and relax and enjoy it if you can and good luck!

Thank you all. We ended up having a student sonographer so had a longer look than we would have done otherwise. Her trainer came in after and had a double check so lots was gone through.

I was really nervous but luckily everything was ok. Found out it was a boy - the bf said to the sonographer 'oh no, she doesn't want one of those'. I could have killed him. I hope he was joking. Apart from that it was ok.

Thank you again for your reassurance

Hi, I had mine today and spent the morning blubbing quietly at my desk at work and felt exactly the same as you. It was fab though and also found out we're having a boy. Congratulations!

CharleyAB · 26/07/2012 13:24

Hi backinaminute, congratulations! Boys seem to be very popular at the moment! When are you due?
