Ante-natal classes at how many weeks?

The course I want to do (and which is at the end of my road) would mean that I start at 27.5 weeks and finish at 32.5 weeks - is this too early?

I could alternatively look at the nearby NCT courses which I could start a bit later but are not as convenient to attend, and also will then be in my busiest period at work (and the run up to Christmas) so would probably be more stressful in terms of fitting everything in.

Is 27.5 weeks too early to start? I am at risk of an early birth anyway so maybe it's a good thing!

I'm a bit down about it - I've really been looking forward to this particular course and now the timings seem to be against me...

Not too early- I started my NCT one last week at 27+3. We are the last EDD but only by 3 days. If this is the course you really want to do then go for it. I was advised by the midwife not to leave doing the course too late as a) you might go into labour sooner than you think and b) the further on you get the more uncomfortable you will be sat in a stuffy room for 2-3 hours.

That sounds like a really good time to have them. Last time round mine were scheduled so late that I'd already given birth!

Thanks ladies - feel miles better now! And, being rational, anyone else due around my time in my area will have the same problem so hopefully I won't be due loads later than others on the course.

I've just done a set of NCT courses - I'm 32 weeks, the group ranged from 27 to 35 weeks, so I think go for it!

Thanks Beans. That's reassuring to know. Smile
