Did anyone see meet the multiples a lady on here didnt know she was pregnant with triplets until she went in to labour.
She had them shortly after she had twins and they are in the same school year. Shock

I remember her! She and her husband are AMAZING! Lovely kids too!

My dad's mum didn't know she was having twins until he arrived after his brother - but this was in 1948! I wonder if a midwife could tell just by feeling your bump or listening for the heartbeat.

Oh, Valium that's lovely! (of your DGM - not the horrible midwife, I mean) It's just made me tear up (which admittedly doesn't take much as 31 weeks preg w/ DC3 and very hormonal and tired!)

Twofurryones are you in the States, then? (obv. must be?) Do you watch A Baby Story? It's complete crap (it's all complete crap) but somehow curiously compelling car crash viewing. In fact, one of the downsides of being a SAHM and not having maternity leave is that I can't watch it! (on at 10 in the morning). I used to be addicted when I was on mat leave from work with DC1!

My grandma miscarried my dad's twin at about 20 weeks Sad and thought that was it obv. But he clung on and a couple of months later she went to see the doc thinking she was still unwell from the miscarriage only to be told there was another baby in there.

chocolate you old softie! Smile

My mother only discovered there were 2 of us by xray Shock 3 weeks before we were born. It took her another 3 days to tell our father...

chocolate no not in the states I just made it quite far down the list of sky channels when I was on mat leave Smile.

I think they can tell if it is twins with just a Doppler, DH's Gran mentioned the reason they couldn't with her twins is that their heartbeats were in sync, and I'm pretty sure that they identified twins with a Doppler on 'call the midwife'.

My (very good - very technical...) OB here in the States told me he actually missed twins once in his lifetime (using a scan, not just a doppler!) cos one was hiding behind the other.... He said this to us quite casually when I was getting my first scan w/ DC3. Poor DH went pale and said 'Can you just check again to make sure it's only one in there?' (DH lives in fear, every time, of being told it's twins - which run in my family - luckily for him this is our last preg!)
