Weight gain at 25 weeks

Im a bit concerned that im not putting on enough weight. I have only out on 4.5lbs since the start of my pregnancy. I haven't had any sickness and I feel like I eat A LOT!

A pregnancy calculator says I should have put on over a stone by now.

Before I was pregnant, when I was trying to conceive, I put on about a stone as I was constantly eating crap with the attitude that "ah well I'll be pregnant soon and get fat anyway". So maybe my body decided it had enough of a fat layer anyway?

I would mention it to your midwife. If you have been eating healthier you may have lost some of the stone in fat and gained it in baby if you see what I mean but I would still speak to midwife as you are obviously worried about it. I had a friend who only gained a stone all pregnancy and she was low BMI to start with so doesn't have to be a problem but it is worth raising it as a concern.

I didn't put much on up until 20 weeks then It went on pretty fast and slowed again at 35 weeks ? But mention it to midwife jus to be sure all is fine .

Thanks. Am seeing midwife tomorrow so she will probably weigh me then and she can let me know of any concerns. I have a feeling the first time I was weighed I was wearing really heavy winter clothes and giant boots, whereas when I weigh myself now it's in the buff! Not a good comparison!

I have a fairly sizeable bump so I'm pretty sure LO is developing nicely. As for losing fat elsewhere - I certainly haven't noticed the equally sizeable bum and thighs shrinking unfortunately Blush Its a mystery Confused

I had a similar concern recently but from all I have read it's the size of your bump that really matters not your weight. Also you should gain less if you started off heavier so perhaps you can count that pre-preg stone towards your weight gain! (I also put on a bit before pregnancy, my thinking was the same as yours!!)
