Hi,
Im 19 weeks pregnant and have a 21 month old DD. She loves cuddles and each night we lay on the settee playing and talking etc.
Tonight she wanted to feed me pretend food and stepped on my tummy and also leant quite hard.
Im now worried as I havent felt the baby move since and dont know if letting her climb over me should be avoided or if it would cause no harm.
Anyone know?

My toddler gave me a right pounding and headbutting on more than one occasion, DD was fine... have you tried waking the baby with cold water or lying down and stroking your bump for a while? Just to reassure you... if you haven't felt anything by tomorrow you could go to midwife/gp, but I know babies can be quiet for daaaaays and you're only 19 weeks gone! If it's changed position you might not be feeling it summersaulting!

I wouldn't worry too much. Your baby's well protected in there! I actually fell down the stairs whilst pregnant with dd at about your stage and she was fine.

BTW, I'm not sure about ds, but with dd, my second, she definately went quiet for 24 hours at 19 weeks exactly. I was really worried and going to go to the hospital, but there is something about that stage. They are still small enough to be able to turn completely and so kicking inwards, iykwim.

Kbaby - Try not to worry hon!
I have a 2 1/2 year old and 3 1/2 year old. Who have both taken a keen interest in baby. The younger one will rub and kiss my belly one minute and then give it a smack the next.(she's not cruel, just playing). I agree with the others, your baby is so well protected.

I actually had a nasty fall when I was about 4 weeks pg (didn't know at the time), and i'm fine.
It's natural to be worried but dont stress yourself out.
Just a thought, maybe you could do what I do with the girls, encourage your dd to kiss and stroke the baby. One of the girls favourite pastimes at the moment is rubbing cream into my belly. It makes them feel they are involved with the pg.

If you haven't had any loss (blood, water, discharge) you're probably fine. I would sit quietly with a cold drink and a piece of chocolate and then count the kicks for reassurance. If you are still worried, get down to the EPU (or the labour ward tonight if the EPU is shut) and they'll listen to the heartbeat and put your mind at rest.

Take care.

I can understnd how worried you're feeling, but your baby is well padded in there!

Would a bath help? I always felt kicks well in the bath.

Hope you can relax.

Let us know when you feel movement...

Ive had a cold fizzy drink and some chocolate and have just started to feel some kicks. Phew..

Thanks everyone I guess ill be more carefuly next time. It was my own fault for laying on my back and letting her climb all over me.
