If you were going to a festival at 34 weeks pregnant what would you take?!

Assuming I'm not being really really sick (hypermesis) I plan to go to a festival in a few weeks time when I will be 34 weeks. There will be lots of friends going and I'll be sleeping in a caravan.

What would you take to make yourself comfortable in the day time? I don't plan to walk around much, more of a plonk and stay, but I might quite like to have a snooze without going back to the caravan.

Any tips? Thanks!

sounds fine to me! I think if it's totally horrendous we can just come home. I'd rather try and know it can't be done than sit at home all upset at not being able to go.

I would try and not camp though if I were you, or take a super comfy mattress and loads of pillows. Would it be expensive to hire a campervan I wonder?

We'll be fine, I'm sure of it. Just don't do too much. I also just started a thread on the greenman board as I really want to take a little shelter, because then I can nap in it! I feel like an umbrella would be higher in the sky so affect more people?

I have just come back from Glastonbury and I am 32 weeks pregnant. I had an amazing time, I have written a blog post on my experience and advice here: charitychic.wordpress.com/2013/07/02/glaston-baby-how-to-do-glastonbury-or-any-other-festival-if-youre-pregnant/
Hope it helps if you're struggling to decide on whether to go or not. Remember, you can always come home if it's dire! Good luck x

Sorry to hijack thread but a practical question re these shepees etc. Where exactly do you use them? E.g. with the ones that mean you can wee standing up, do you just stand in front of a bush and pretend to be a man. Or with the ones that actually 'catch' the wee, how do you get them inside your clothes? Wouldn't you need to be in a toilet to actually use them?!

I would try and get a chair with a bit of a back (so not the tripod stools), even if it's bulkier to carry.

A shepee, I use disposable ones at festivals. Bitzer you use them in longdrops/portaloos. I find 'hovering' over loos (essential at some festivals!) a lot harder pg, and the shepees prevents me from falling off balance and getting god knows what on my thighs/clothes! I did also take a small pack of wipes to wipe loo seats when necessary.

A paper parasol (ebay has lots), and maybe a thin shawl/sarong in a light colour that you can put over your shoulders/face if you want a nap and can't find enough shade.

And some festivals have midwives on site, so go and say hi. The NCT tent at Glastonbury is fantastic.

Green Man is by far my fave festival Grin

I would take what I call piss bags but I think they have another name, they're bags you wee into when you cba going to find a drop toilet in the middle of the night. You can get them on amazon. amazing.

And then hand sanitizer, maternity notes, pillow, camping chair, nice drinks (can get expensive otherwise!)

Have a fab time!
