Does anywhere actually stock maternity wear in-store???

I'm currently 12 weeks pg with DC2 and I will not be long out of maternity wear. I've got a few tatty bits from last time, but will need to buy at least one pair of jeans, some trousers and a couple of dresses (easiest thing to wear for work). I don't mind buying dresses and tops online, but I really would prefer to try trousers & jeans on first - I don't want to end up order 50 pairs to find one that fits (and traipsing endlessly to the post office to return the ones that don't...)

The only place that seems to have stuff to try on is Next, and it's a very sorry single carousel type affair - with about 3 items on it. Any tips for where I can find a bigger selection??

TIA Smile

Emsyj, I feel your pain. I work in London so went to Oxford St the other day thinking I would be spoilt for choice. I am 16 weeks pregnant and am bursting out of all my pre-pregnancy clothes now but like you really wanted to try things on first. This is first pregnancy so haven't got my head around what to look for in maternity clothes yet, e.g. under bump or over bump trousers. I was really surprised to find out that John Lewis, M&S and Debenhams didn't stock anything in store - they do online. Gap had a maternity selection, but I really need smartish work clothes so wasn't suitable. I ended up ordering online from JoJo Maman Bebe which had a sale on. I think I will need to visit boutique shops out of town.

I think Next is pretty good for smartish stuff, but you do have that annoying thing of having to order online - but I'm going to go with the suggestion upthread of having everything delivered to store, then go and try it on and return immediately anything that I don't like/want - so effectively it will be a bit like shopping I guess! Last time I was pg I ordered from Next and they were a total nightmare - I won't go into it, but it culminated in a lengthy written apology and a £30 gift voucher. But I can't think of a way to avoid ordering from there as they have about 50% of the things I want! Grrr.

John Lewis stocks Seraphine maternity clothes!! Seraphine also have two shops, one in Hampstead and one on Kensington church street. My whole pregnancy wardrobe is made up of their stuff! Really cute items and not ridiculously expensive. Dream!

Ladies - there's a maternity clothes thread with online store reviews and general discussion about in store selections - what little there is - which may interest.
