Advice on brown discharge at 6-7 weeks

Hi all - wonder if anyone can help.

I have had some very light brown discharge this morning when I wiped, and I think I had some yesterday but it was so light you could barely tell.

I am just wondering at what point you need to contact someone? Do I just leave it and see if it gets any worse?

I tried looking on the NHS website and it says to contact GP or midwife, but of course it is the weekend, so I would need to go through OOH and really don't want to be traipsing down to the hospital if I can help it - DH working and no-one to look after DS. (Obviously I can call him if I need to).

I had this last time I was pregnant at around the same time, but I had one-sided stabbing pain too, so went to A&E. It was all ok though - scan showed little heartbeat and no problems.

No pain this time and feel sick as a dog with agonising boobs Grin.

So what do you think I should do?

Can't give any advice on what to do, just to tell you that I had the same at about 8/9 weeks. I had it 3 times and each time it was when I had overdone it....long day round Disneyland Paris, hike up a mountain! I didn't consult anyone as it never happened again, and I'm now 20 weeks with a big baby belly. But if you're worried then it's probably best to call the doctor or midwife.

Thanks EmmaNicole.

That kind of makes sense - I've had some bad tummy pains yesterday, but I know it's related to my IBS as it's definitely in that area IYSWIM and also I can tell the feeling when all my insides have flared up (like having horrendous trapped wind!) Sorry for TMI! I wonder whether or not that has put pressure on the area or something.

I think I'll just watch and wait over the weekend - which is basically what the doctors told me to do when I went with the last pregnancy - and see the GP on Monday if no worse in the meantime.

I have no idea how to contact the midwife as I haven't even had my booking appointment yet.

The other thing I'm wondering is, I am meant to be going out at lunchtime to do a lot of walking around, and also supposed to be going out tonight for dinner and drinks and probably a late-ish night. I really don't want to let them down as two other people have already pulled out, but I don't want to do anything that could potentially make things worse. Would you go if you were me? I am veering towards cancelling but not looking forward to telling them, as no-one knows I'm pg so will need to come up with an excuse!

Just spoke to NHS direct and they said it's nothing to worry about at this stage but to ring back if it gets worse.

So will just have to wait and see......

I know what you mean, I hate letting people down when I've made arrangements....but look after yourself!

I had this a 7 weeks and was sent to EPU after spending the weekend very upset.

Everything was fine and I'm now 40+18 (DD3 is 3 weeks old).

You don't sound too worried, so I'd go with your gut. Spending the next few days in a state worrying isn't going to help, so you might as well be in good form.

Thanks - yes you're right, I'm not really worried - I suppose I'm a kind of 'whatever will be will be' type person Smile

I've got a really sore lower back though and really not looking forward to going out as I'm exhausted, queasy and can't drink!
