Hello All!

Sorry to ask for more recommendations but I am torn between the iCandy Jogger and Stokke Xplory. Any views please? Also, I am looking for a nursing chair- the ones that I have seen do not look so good. Any recommendations please?

Thank you!!!!

Hi Can't help you with the buggies as I went for a Britax Smart 3 but expecting my third and personally would say don't waste your money on a nursing chair. Get yourself a 'v' pillow and that will be all you need ! My friend had a nursing chair and found it great to store all her ironing Grin

If you really want to get a chair, go for an Ikea Poang - really very comfy (have spent hours sleeping in mine when DS1 wouldn't sleep as a toddler. Plus it can be useful afterwards somewhere else in the house.

Oh, on the pushchairs I personally wouldn't touch the explore - no suspension at all makes it a bumpy ride for baby. If you post on the pushchairs board, there are some fantastic ladies who have great knowledge who can tell you all about the various pushchairs and make some recommendations for you.

Thank you ever so much !!!

Ditto the ikea poang & matching footstool - very comfy and doesn't cost the earth :)

BuntyCollocks · 19/07/2012 21:56

Don't have and haven't tried the iCandy, but I adore my
Stokke. It is easy to put up and down, lots of room in the bag, turns with a fingertip, and is good on every terrain I've used it on (beach, urban, woodland). I can't recommend enough :)

Ilovekittyelise · 19/07/2012 22:04

if ikea poang is the £50 one, i couldnt agree more; brilliant. i have just been having a sit with a (ok, several) glass(es) of wine in the conservatory. from what i remember of those early months it was good then too!

i have the icandy peach and its GREAT. it does however cost about £1000 excluding car seat, which is why i got it on ebay, for about £400 i think. it really is a lovely buggy and i enjoy it, but i would implore anyone not to spend £1000 on a travel system, its insanity, if i was dripping in spare money i would make the same choice, and give the other £500 to someone in need. in reality, if i was doing it all again i would get something on ebay that wasnt as expensive in the first place, as, at the end of the day, its just a bloody pushchair!

HappyCamel · 19/07/2012 22:09

I have an iCandy cherry, which is great. I got an idea rocking chair which is good too. Comfy but not bulky so it doesn't take up too much space in the nursery.

HappyCamel · 19/07/2012 22:10

*Ikea rocking chair. Autocorrect fail!

JamieAngelosMuse · 20/07/2012 09:35

Stokke fan here. I can't praise mine highly enough. In fact Stokke should probably be paying me a fee for all the great PR I do on their behalf. :)

BlueChampagne · 20/07/2012 13:03

I have an iCandy apple cluttering up my garage. It's 5-6 years old (got it on ebay) and well used if you're interested (Cambridge). Second Sproglet on the nursing chair though.

BlueChampagne · 20/07/2012 13:04

Would probably say £100 plus delivery if required?

applecrumple · 22/07/2012 20:01

In case you're interested, I went for the Joolz Day - £905 including footmuff, car seat, isofix base, buggy & carrycot. Couldn't justify the huge cost if the Stokke!

BuntyCollocks · 22/07/2012 21:59

apple - my stokke cost 600 quid, brand new, choice of all colours, and carrycot, seat unit, base, bag. The extras I bought (footmuff, car seat adaptors) came in at 100. Car seat and isofix were another 200 (maxi cosi cabriofix and family fix base) - if you'd really wanted you could have probably had the stokke for the same/similar money :) but that's a lovely buggy, too!

soandsosmum · 22/07/2012 22:26

I got a second hand rocking chair with rocking stool for feeding. Only used it for about 4 months but for £40 ish I LOVED it. Way more comfy than Ikea ponang imo

soandsosmum · 22/07/2012 22:27

Ps it was a the cushioned arms, pockets and rocking stool which did it for me

BagofHolly · 22/07/2012 23:19

I don't have any tattoos but if I did I'd have "Stokke" tattooed across my heart. The xplory is a thing of awesome design and beauty. It is MILES better than any other pram out there, and I am a committed pram-slag.

I also had an iCandy pear (which is an apple but with a converter for a second child) and it utterly sucked. It was meritless and shit and I sold it a few weeks later. The build quality is awful, the design is crap, and whenever I see anyone with one I think "you poor buggers" safe in the knowledge that they will have fought to assemble it, and will fight to get it back in the car.

If Stokke did a double xplory then my life would be perfect and complete.

Sunshinecurl · 23/07/2012 06:40

Stokke without a shadow of doubt - you won't regret it...the height, comfort and functionality are unsurpassed in any other stroller. My son loves his.

KittieCat · 23/07/2012 06:45

Stokke all the way. I'm a fussy bugger and I cannot fault it at all. I love it, as does DH and, most importantly, DS. In fact the carrycot was the only place DS would sleep when he was tiny.

Also, Stokke customer service has been second to none.

I love Stokke...
