Evening sickness?!

Hi all, I'm 8 weeks tomorrow and have been getting more and more morning sickness. It's pretty violent and sudden when I do have to chunder (sometimes it's just nausea), but when it's over, it's over.

I'm then able to have a normal day food-wise but then when I get home in the evening, I feel really horrible - any food makes me sick. It started off as feeling yucky when I was hungry which disappeared as soon as I ate but now I'm starting to find it hard to eat as the sickness just won't go away and I'm hardly eating anything in the evenings. I find that starting with a small amount and then eating more if I can does help but I can't help but think that I'm not eating enough as I'm definitely not managing as much as before I got pg.

Please help - is there anything else I can do? I'm trying to eat whatever I fancy and get myself excited about my meals but I just can't work up an appetite in the evenings :(

This sounds very familiar!! I always felt awful if I went more than 1.5/2 hours between eating and for numerous reasons this always happened before evening meal.

Do you have a snack late afternoon?

Also tiredness always made mine worse so would go to bed early and have something else to eat before going to bed!! I think I had about 8 meals a day!!!

Hope it starts passing soon. I think peak time for worse morning sickness is 8-9 weeks.

To be honest, nothing's helped much for me except lying down as often as possible.

I've been sick since 6 weeks and I'm now 14 - weeks 8-9 were the worst!

Anti-nausea wristbands (from Boots) took the edge off a bit. Otherwise, just keep non-acidic foods in your stomach as much as possible. I haven't found a magic formula for avoiding vomiting other than eating fruit before meals (and avoiding citrus altogether). Sometimes it just happens with no reason.

In your case (I had evening sickness too, now it's evening AND morning), I'd lie down as soon as possible after you get home and nibble crackers or biscuits (or have cereal) instead of eating a meal. Then just go to bed.

I've lost weight as well but I'm crossing my fingers that it'll end soon...

I have constant sickness and am struggling to eat anything at all. It's awful. I've lost over a stone!!! I'm hoping it will ease off. Just drink plenty of fluids and try to rest. Xxx

Same here, 8 weeks and feel nauseous throughout the day which gets worse as the day goes on. Just got sea sickness bands so I'm hoping they work...

I only got evening sickness not morning sickness. I think this was because I ate almost as soon as I woke up whereas I often had a gap between lunch and dinner with no eating. So I would definitely recommend trying to eat something 2-3 hours after lunch, then having an earlyish dinner if you can.

Think I'm going to try the bands as well. I'm reliably sick first thing in the morning and sometimes later as well (five times yesterday!) and one thing that def seems to bring it on for me is fruit juice on an empty stomach. Problem is I'm struggling to fill my empty stomach because all food just seems totally horrible and I can hardly think of anything I want to eat. Hot cross buns seem to be helping a bit though!
