25 weeks and movements slowed down.....normal?

Hi, I feel I should know everything as this is DC3 but I still feel like a complete novice sometimes.

I am nearly 26 weeks and the last few days baby has been quiet. I have felt movements - several times a day but they are softer and very infrequent compared to the previous couple of weeks. I can go for hours without feeling a thing and just when I think - ooh I shoud get this checked out - the baby decides to wriggle a bit or kick - then nothing again. Is it normal for baby to have a quiet few days - should I be worried - i am not sure what to do.

I have been under immense stress the last few weeks (major build - living on site - two other DC - stressed husband - cash flow issues - builder being a d*head - exhausted) so am stressing on top of the stress that I am somehow harming the baby.

Any advice please? Thanks

I think its worth getting it checked out tbh to put your mind at rest. Probably be fine but any decrease in movement should be investigated.

I agree with hugandroll . I am sure that the baby is fine, but please have your midwife check.

Good luck.

I'm 27 weeks & had the same issue. On mon, I actually called the assessment unit & went n for monitoring - all was fine, but I then had 3 more days of less than normal movement - actually thought baby had died during the night on tues as there was so little movement. Ever since fri though she's been moving practically non- stop - I actually stopped counts today's movements after 5.30 this afternoon as she had already made it to 150! Get yourself checked if a all concerned, but yours may be like mine - quieter some days & then mental on others!

You should get this checked tonight. Chances are the baby is moving normally but has changed position so you're feeling the movements differently plus all the stres you're under means you notice them less but nobody can tell you that for sure without monitoring of the heartbeat. Call your delivery ward and arrange to go in tonight for a wellbeing check. You've nothing to lose by doing that. Hell of a lot to lose if you wait and something is wrong.
