How long did your sickness last?

I'm only curious because I'm only just 6+3 but already I am feeling a faint but ever-present lingering nausea. It gets stronger and weaker throughout the days (started feeling like this about a week ago), and I just wondered how long it lasted? Haven't thrown up yet but feeling sick all day (morning sickness? Try 24/7 sickness!!) is far from pleasant, especially when we're not planning on telling people til 10-12 weeks.

Also, am going on holiday in four weeks time and really hoping I'm not going to be feeling too sick to enjoy myself :(

Mine improved midway through wk 9. I had horrendous nausea with aversionvtoost food and drinks but no vomiting ( though dry retching - urgh). Lied to my Dr and said i was vomiting as she wouldn't prescribe anything unless i was puking as getting married at 9+1. I was getting v dehydrated as couldn't even drink water. Metoclopride worked a treat and didn't have to take many doses. Have been on a 7hr ferry ride, 4 flights and lots of train rides on honeymoon which was totally unthinkable a few weeks ago. mild nausea returned today at 11wks but ice lollies and sorbets are great. Hope you have a similar experience and are able to enjoy your holiday - can def sympathise with your worries.

You have my sympathy OP. I'm 7 weeks and feel constantly sick, throwing up once or twice a day. I had no sickness last time so thought I would be ok Sad

Im just 13 weeks and the nausea is almost gone now, still so tired but i blame this on my old 40 year old body Grin

I'm almost 10 weeks and starting to have a few better days mixed in with the bad ones. I've been feeling horribly sick on and off most days from week 5 with the worst being week 7 and 8 where I felt bloody awful all day every day. Last week I had a couple of good days and this week I actually have an appetite and only feeling sick when i smell something whiffy or if I don't eat first thing.

7-17 weeks were pretty horrendous but then I felt much better.
Am 31 weeks tomorrow and have been feeling sick again since the weekend. Which is a little crushing! Hoping it passes soon.

Other people will probably cotton on, OP. I'd never realised until being pregnant myself, but women who've already been pregnant have a tendency to notice when other women are up the duff and trying to cover it up. I believe the etiquette is to pretend one hasn't noticed.

Is this your first? The traditional wisdom is that first is worst. I'm 37+6 with DC1 and found I had nausea and dry heaving from about 7-17 weeks, and dry heaving from 7 weeks until probably mid 20s. Saying that, your sickness may not actually get any worse than it is now. You'd be one of the lucky ones, but it's perfectly possible.

Sorry, meant to say nausea and low appetite from 7-17 weeks, dry heaving from 7 til mid 20s.

Until DD was born. I was sick as soon as she was born but that was down to hormones apparently others get a rush of love upon seeing their baby, I got a rush of vomit
