I used fairy non bio with my first but no way is that gonna get my older twos stuff clean this time! I'm sticking with the persil bio but will get a nice decent fabric conditioner. I would jus not put too much in when u wash the bits in it and see if baby is ok with it like no rash etc I'm sure it will b fine tho.

I always used non-bio as the enzymes in the bio stuff was too rough for my sensitive skin, never mind the DCs.

I think all fabric softener is much the same, so I just used whatever was on offer or in the cupboard.

SimplySoo · 04/07/2012 08:16

I've read everywhere you should use non-bio.

abigboydidit · 04/07/2012 08:20

I used non-bio and stopped using softener.

DSs clothes just get bunged in the normal wash, with our usual Bio powder. The only stuff that got washed in non bio was stuff that had been hanging round the house from DD and that was only because the powder was free

Snap flipsaps ! Lol if u can soak bibs and Terry nappies in napisan etc I'm sure any soap powder is ok? Obv if u suffer with eczema or sensitive skin or baby develops sensitive skin to it u can buy stuff specially for baby . May b ok if it's ur first but as there will b 5 of us I'm not washing separately lol spec as oh is a bin man he needs a bit of bio loool ! Personal choice to b honest ! I've jus checked my bio box and says nothing on there about babies ?

AdventuresWithVoles · 04/07/2012 11:36

I use regular & colour bio with no problems.

Badgerina · 04/07/2012 18:59

I have always used non-bio. Biological washing powder is really bad for the environment, and is harsh on skin. For stubborn messes I add Ecover oxygen laundry bleach.

HowardMoonsTinyEyes · 04/07/2012 21:22

Thanks everyone for your advice. Think will stick with non bio and if the little one turns out to be a sensitive soul will look for special stuff xx

I read or was told to get Eco friendly conditioner such as ecover as there is less stuff in it.

I used Fairy Non-Bio until DD was about 3mo. For stubborn stains (poo mostly!) I used to soak the 'offending' article in some Napisan overnight. Brilliant stuff!
