ok, I'm not leaking a lot to the point it's going through my bra and clothes, I was hoping yesterday was a one off but it's happened today too.

How do I stop this? I'm guessing breast pads? Which ones are the best and how often do I need to change them? I'm a bit worried there wont be any milk left for the baby!

Let me first say you aren't leaking milk, just colostrum, so don't worry about there being no milk left for your baby :). You can't really stop them from leaking though. From your post I can't tell if you are saying it's leaking a lot and is going through your bra and clothes or that it isn't leaking a lot and isn't going through your bra and clothes. If you are leaking through your bra and clothes, then I would suggest breast pads. I'm sorry I can't offer as to the best ones or when to change them. If you aren't leaking through your clothes, you could use breast pads, but I personally don't see the point, unless it would make you more comfortable. Good luck to you :).

Samaralee, so sorry, what a terrible typo! It is leaking so much to go through my clothes. Seems like breast pads are the way to go.

I got some dry night sheets for my mattress and a soft towel to lie on so I don't have to bother at night, a bra in bed would be awful!

I will have a look see if I can find any breastpad threads here somewhere. Thanks for the reassurance that I wont run out - not even of colostrum?

A friend recommended Tommee Tippee breast pads to me. I've needed them once so far and they seem good. Not the cheapest but my friend said that when things got heavier for her they were definitely the best. They were on offer in Tesco when I got them so worth looking around for deals.

I started leaking at 20wks with my DD and I fed her fine!!

Asda do disposable breastpads, 50 I think in a pack, 2 packs for £3 and I always found them quite reasonable. Alternatively, with pg leakage, a washable breastpad would prob suffice, as though it seems like loads when there's a wet patch spreading across your top, its not really... Boots ones were reasonable if I remember correctly.

Currently 20wks with #2 so awaiting the leaking... Grin

No, you won't run out Smile

Making colostrum/milk is a constant process - you don't have a set amount. Milk production is triggered by the birth and your real milk will come in 3-5 days after baby is born - until then you'll make colostrum. With DD I could express colostrum from 11w pg, after BF her I didn't stop producing milk entirely and could express colostrum all the way through my pregnancy with DS (currently 11wo and EBF!)

Thanks everyone for the reassurance about colostrum was a bit worried as it does feel like loads, but it's probably just the 'spreadage' that makes it seem so.

I've got some Closer to Nature ones and some asda own to see which is best; sure I will use them all given time.
