When did you start buying (not wearing) maternity clothes?

Since I had ds I work in a more formal setting so can't get away with wearing dp's giant sweaters etc. I'm only 7 weeks but have spotted a few reduced items that would fit the bill, which is ideal as I don't want to spend much. Should I snap up these bargains or is that tempting fate? Hmm

Hi wiggy, I bought a few things this week. That's me just passed 11 weeks, I doubt buying a few bits and bobs could harm :)

id get them! i couldnt do my jeans up cos of the bloating and now i dont even want to try else il cry!

Mmmm, I'm afraid I don't need much persuading when it comes to shopping (she says, opening a window in ASOS and Topshop...) Grin As it's for the baby it'll be coming out of the joint account.

Only seems fair - very much joint expenditure.

I brought my first pair of maternity jeans when I was about 10 weeks they were half price with an extra 10% off so couldn't resist and now I fit them there amazing! Wish I brought another Sad

Hi Wiggy, as I'm having dc#4 I already have a lovely bump at 11 weeks. This morning I bought a loads of things online, figuring I could send stuff back if it were awful. I already bought tops in a bigger size a few weeks ago (things I could breasted in so they would be worth the money) and I've been in maternity trousers for weeks. I say go for it, you've got to have clothes to wear!

Big waves to spring - how the hell are ya?

Wiggy29 · 02/07/2012 19:40

All in all, I am really quite pleased with the reindeer. He didn't do too badly for us lot at all.

I hope you're both keeping okay - I am slowly starting to not feel sick 24/7. May it continue.

Buy away. You're going to need stuff. Last pregnancy the Topshop maternity jeans I'd seen never came back in stock in my size and I regretted not buying them at the time. This time I ordered some at about 4/5 weeks and have started wearing them at 12 weeks.

I know that lots of people feel the same as you re 'tempting fate' and I'm not trying to rubbish your views but buying some clothes/decorating the nursery/bringing a pushchair into the house really isn't going to make anything bad happen.

Congratulations and happy spending!

Ah Wiggy, I'm sick, sick, sick. I've been off work for three weeks now as I'm so debilitated by it. It must get better soon surely - 11+3???

Wiggy29 · 03/07/2012 19:29

Oh no Spring, sorry to hear that! I feel lousy but mainly in the afternoon, around two-five o'clock I feel like I've just come off the waltzers! I'm exhausted too but luckily things have calmed down this week as I was literally on my knees by the end of last week then DS had chicken pox. Shattered! Really just can't wait for 12 week scan now.
