Pregnancy pillows?

I'm doing some internet research into pregnancy pillows as I'm having a tough time sleeping at mo as for last 29 years I've slept on my front which is becoming less possible now!
There are so many different options out there to buy I'm looking for some recommendations please. Have any of you found a great solution? I don't think a v-shaped one will work for me as don't see how it'll help me sleep on my side but there are so many different shapes I don't know which to go for.
TIA!

I just used normal pillows. I put one between my knees, and sometimes another under the bump as I lay on my side.

Full body pillow from Lidl for £10 works for me :) I think pregnancy pillows are a waste of money if you just want something that will stop you from rolling on to your front, before I got the full body pillow I just used a couple of normal ones as two says. :)

I had the dream genie full body pillow for 1st pregnancy & loved it. I just can't get on with it this pregnancy, seems to make me too hot. I'm currently 26 weeks & so far a normal pillow between my legs is helping a lot.

Thanks ladies. I've seen the dreamgenii one but it looked quite big so wasn't sure how I'd get on with it - such a fussy sleeper, I hope LO isn't going to take after me in that way at all!!

I'm going to go for your advice and try normal pillows between the legs for the next few nights and see how I get on.

I've got the Summer pillow, its a curved c-shaped one that can also be used post pregnancy as a breast feeding support and as a seat for baby too. I love it, couldn't get used to it at first but as I've gotten bigger its helped me sleep so much better. Its certainly not on the small side but for everything you can use it for, I'd say its a worthwhile investment. I wouldn't deny yourself of one if you think it'll help xx

I hate side sleeping so it's not been easy. I started off sleeping with like 5 normal pillows but they took up to much space, and only the older squished pillows were good, new ones are too fat and wide. I've read that you don't actually need to be really far over onto your side and that just a tilt is enough. So if that's right, then a line of pillows under your right shoulder, hip and leg, will tilt you enough onto your left side, without feeling like you're totally lying on your side. However as I've got bigger my bump now needs some support.

I bought a huge pregnancy pillow that's like a big U shape. It's really good and I can see it will be good for feeding. Also last night I had indigestion (big chinese takeaway) so it enabled me to sleep sitting up quite comfortably.

However, after I bought it a friend said they used two long bolsters (just a sausage shape pillow not a special pregnancy thing). I've just got back from Spain. People have bolster pillows a lot on the continent and the apartment had these. I loved them. Gives more flexibility in how you position yourself than the funny shaped pregnancy pillows. Also DH liked them as he had a sore neck and found they helped a lot.

So if I'd known I would have got a couple of long bolster pillows, probably a lot cheaper than specialist pregnancy pillows and also don't look a mess on your bed.

I just knew that the dream genie one would drive me nuts as I change sides regularly through the night. It looks like you'd have to get up and re-arrange the entire bed each time.

I dithered over the decision but was desperate one day, so just got the straight up and down body-length pillow from Mothercare. I love big fluffy pillows and was initally sceptical that it wasn't "stuffed" enough but it's been great - turns out I don't actually want a lot of pillow underneath my belly, just a little extra support. Plus it's pretty versatile when it comes to shaping it to fit the legs comfortably (upper legs only, whole length legs, just "getting a leg over", whatever suits).

Although DP and I refer to it as "The Berlin Wall", it's not massively big and we have plenty of room in our King size bed. DP actually has pillow envy now and I think I may have caught him trying to steal it away a couple of times. During the day it just sits across the entire width of the bed, I imagine much like the bolster pillows mentioned by paperclips.

Received my Theraline pillow from Amazon today. It's amazing. Totally recommend. I took it straight to bed this afternoon to try it out and fell asleep for an hour Grin

They sell full body bolsters in Dunelm mill for about 10 -12 pounds I think - far cheaper I know than the ones billed as pregnancy pillows..

I second the body bolster. A godsend during pregnancy and works well as a feeding pillow or barrier to stop baby falling off the bed.
