how much movement at 40+ weeks?

Just curious really. I'm 40+4 and since the mw recommended sitting on my ball to see if it would help turn the baby from being slightly back to back a couple of days ago, I've not had quite so much movement (but its been right in the front so hopefully is working!). I know I always get a lot more movement in the evening and also there is not much room left in there to move anyway. I may call the hospital later if I don't get much more in the next hour as has been v quiet this morning.
What are your patterns of movement/ non movement if you are 40+ weeks?

I'm also 40+4 and I've noticed less movement, but it's still there. A lot of rolling as she normally moves from my left side to my right side a few times a day. When I mentioned less movement because there was less room at the midwife appointment, she didn't really seemed concerned, but it's always best to be on the safe side. I would just have an ice lolly or something cold and sweet to drink, lie down and then "count the kicks". You just wait for a time where your baby is normally most active, then you count any movement as one kick and make sure you get to 10 kicks in a two hour window.

My baby still moves around a lot at night after my last meal of the day and also whenever I cuddle up to my husband she always moves around then (I like to think it's because she's trying to cuddle up to him, rather than it's just because I've gone from sitting up to lying down lol).

I was worrying the other day about her movements, had an ice lolly and she then started moving for me.

Always talk to the midwife if you are unsure though, but best to try a few things that normally gets the baby going first. Good luck :)

From what I know it should be at least 6 movements per hour

I have at least had some movements this morning and might have a bath then go for a walk later to see what that brings. Will keep a close eye on it though.

Any change in usual movements whether more or less than usual should be checked out just in case.

I had the same thing. Not much movement at 40+6. Went in for a sweep at 41 and mentioned less movement. They put me on trace, she was okay with a godd heartbeat, but they induced the next day just in case..

Ninja go and get checked out if you feel worried, they will check the baby and fluid and make sure all is fine :)

Go and get checked out. If there is nothing wrong no harm done.

If the placenta is no longer working efficiently your baby can be delivered.

Don't wish to worry you but it is not worth the risk of waiting.

If in doubt go and get checked , I did and it saved my baby's life.
