Assuming you could only have delayed clamping of the umbilical cord or first skin to skin contact, which do you think is most important to have for the mother and more importantly, for the baby?

I am hoping for both and can't quite visualise why both wouldn't be possible since even with Caesarean there are ways to do both. .I agree it would be massively hard if one couldn't have both and had to choose, but in my case I would probably choose delayed clamping because it seems to have such great benefits and reduces some of rhe shock to the LO as they enter the world :) butbi would want someone down there stroking them and soothing them at the very least! OTOH skin to skin is also SO fantastic at comforting baby, bonding, regulating heartbeat and temp, so YMMV!
