Hi all, just got my BFP last week and am over the moon! very early days though.

Anyway, I'm worried that instead of putting on weight I seem to be losing it. I had hyperthyroidism about 18 months ago and have been in remission from it for about a year. But I remember my endocrinologist said I might have to be monitored closely if I get pregnant because its likely to make it come back. I've not been to the docs yet because I am still under the care of the fertility clinic and they're doing a scan in a couple of weeks to confirm pregnancy. Who do I need to mention it to though? hope someone can help

Hi donycarehow. Congratulations!
I have hyperthyroidism. Graves disease apparently. I have been on meds since 2005, after the birth of DS1.
You do have to see an Endocrinologist when pregnant. I go to a clinic every month or six weeks. I am told to stop taking my meds-carbimazole-during the pregnancy also. Your GP should be able to refer you to the clinic. Just give GP a ring and tell him the situation.
I have been fine in subsequent pregnancies-DC3 due in 6 weeks. However my pulse does tend to race at times, I get palpitations etc. Your GP can check your TFTs also.
Good luck.
