Has anyone used a support bump belt -thingy and could recommend one for me?
I'm carrying very differently with this pregnancy (DC2) and this time I'm really sticking out the front but I haven't gone 'out' the way like the way I did last time.
I had a EMCS last time and I've got the inevitable bit of overhang over the top of the scar, and now it's almost like the bump looks like it will follow Shock.
not a good look
I was hoping that my skin might feel less stretched and might be less likely to head south if I wore one??
My back is hurting sometimes, esp when I'm sitting down so I was hoping it might help with that too?

I brought a maternity support belt, that was across the back and stomache, was £35 from mothercare.

However i only used it once, was awkward to bend down or sit down in.

I mentioned it to my physio, who i go to for pelvic girdle pain, and she said support belts are not designed for sitting in, and if you sit down alot then its uncomfortable and not practical.

She did say "tubi-grip" was better. This is the exact same as a bandage that goes double over your stomach, i got it off the physio, not sure if you can buy it.

However that didnt suit me either, as i found it uncomfortable and felt like someone was sat on my stomach, and gave me abit of pain in my tummy.

I know ebay sell alot of the support belts i have, altho they are second hand, they may be worth a try to see how you get on with it before you go and buy a costly one.

Cantaloop support bandage i found it very comfortable. Also carrying all of baby at the front. Approx £10 from boots.

I just bought this one: www.mothercare.com/Mothercare-Maternity-Support-Belt/LK2038,default,pd.html?dwvar_LK2038_color=Black&cm_sp=ProductFeatures--Category%2520landing--Mothercare%2520Maternity%2520Support%2520Belt

so not a proper hardcore support belt, but I've had it for two days now and it's pretty comfortable!

thank you everyone. I've been online all night but I didn't find the mothercare one for some reason - must have missed it. It looks like the kind of thing and right price. Had just ordered a different one off amazon when I saw your post frantickitty so cancelled it and got that instead and managed to get it delivered free too so bonus Grin.
cheers!

To be honest, I'd go to physio before I bought anything. I went when I was pregnant with DS and found a lot of the things I was doing which seemed to give relied (especially sitting with a cushion in the small of my back) was actually making the problem worse. They gave me a tubigrip that went from just under my bra to over my hips. Took a few days to get used to but made a massive difference. Good luck!

Forpitysake I bought the Mothercare belt that Overloved linked to - and for me it's crap :( The velcro on it kept rubbing on my back and really annoying me, had to take it off. I suspect it might be the kind of thing it's worth spending a bit of money on if you think you need one.
