Low PAPP-A implications later in pregnancy

Just wondered if anyone could give me their stories on this subject. My PAPP-A level at 12 weeks was 0.2 so had Cvs test which showed no chromosomal problems. But I know this can indicate growth problems later in pregnancy.

Has anyone had any experience of this?

Thanks

My Papp A was 0.17 which contributed to a high risk rating so I went into have an amnio which thankfully ruled out any problems. I'm 40+3 now, and so far everything is measuring fine...in fact my MW reckons I'm having a baby with long legs! My 20 week scan was fine too.

I did a brief bit of reading around the time of my amnio and Papp A can be v misleading. A lot of what I read said the levels fluctuate south that sometimes it just depends on the day the bloods were taken as to whether they're deemed good or bad. I decided to not worry about it as what was the point in stressing for the next 6 months or so. Now that baby is 'nearly' (I hope!) here I guess I'll know soon enough, but I have a feeling that all is fine.

Good luck in your pregnancy!

I had low PAPP-A and the other measured hormones were also bit too low or high. The down's risk was 1:3, but chromosomes were fine. I got pre-enclampsia and labour was induced at 37 weeks. In my first pregnancy hormone levels were fine and no pre-enclampsia. I have also read that low PAPP-A could indicate placental problems like pre-enclampsia.

I had a low-pappa result when I was pregnant (dd now 4.7), had a CVS which came back clear. I did have a retained placenta. But other than that it was a routine pregnancy and birth.
