From being very strict about what I eat and having a fairly intense exercise regime when not pregnant, I tend to go to the other extreme when 'in the family way'. Can anyone match my gluttony?

Food intake so far today:

06.45 large bowl of branflakes & semi skimmed milk (large portion, probably twice the size of most peoples)
08.00 (from works canteen): 2 slices of white toast with jam
08.30 - 4 chocolate biscuits with tea
10.05 - bag of salt and vinegar crisps, plus currant bun with margarine
10.30 - offered and accepted a mince pie
Ordered for lunch: a sausage baguette with tomato sauce
Dare say that mid afternoon I will have to eat something (more biscuits?)

Haven't thought about dinner yet but it will involve fruit and vegetables (as I am aware that junior needs this).

Unfortunately this sort of food intake is not atypical. Am I alone in this food fest?

(currently 21 weeks pregnant)

I'm the opposite of you HMC... I struggle to eat when pregnant, but am a pig in ordinary life. I think this is the first pregnancy when I have reached 13 weeks without a net weight loss.

Would love a minced pie & glass of mulled wine -- but I know they will just make me sick.

I am regularly having breakfast, snack, lunch 1, lunch 2, snack, dinner 1, dinner 2! I'm a tiny eater normally, I'm really enjoying having an appetite and loving food.

I'm so glad ds is going to nursery this afternoon - I'm planning to pop into Tescos on the way back because I really fancy some dim sum (they're BOUND to have a ready meal like that in the chinese meals section, aren't they?!)

Have been struggling to eat really - not that i'm not hungry but really hard finding something i actually want to eat................i keep starting things and then deciding i don't want them.

Typical Day:
08.45 - 2 Slices of toast or 3 crumpets (With proper butter)
10.00 - Digestive biscuits (to keep sickness at bay)
12.00 - Crisps/fruit
13.00 - Sandwich/beans on toast/soup (One or the other, not all 3)
15.00 - Banana
16.30 - Fruit or Crisps
18.30 - Dinner

Not hungry after dinner for some reason ! ! Not sure how long that will last!
10 Weeks today.

cry TESCOS HAD SOLD OUT OF MINI CHINESE SNACK PACKS! Disaster!

(bought the mini indian snack pack instead... )

GeorginaA - glad to hear I am not the only glutton around. Secur is not doing too badly either (although at least eating reasonably healthy foods).

Like Twiglett I put on 4 and a half stones last time. I did loose it all with lots of effort, but despite this 'lesson', I seem to be making the same mistakes this time around!

Could be regretting this post delivery (April next year)...but for the moment - bring it on!

I just keep telling myself it's good for the baby to follow my body's natural cravings (well that's my excuse anyway)

Cavy · 09/12/2003 13:50

I live on Dark Chocolate with raisins & nuts, Pizza, Chips, Mushy Peas, Crips, Tea, cheese & onion pasties, skim milk, filled pasta and muesli. And do you know what? I'm proud of that; that's the healthiest I've have EVER EVEr eaten in early pregnancy. Haven't been losing 1 lb/week weight this time, and I only spend 15 hours/day in bed, too!

Cavy - a women after my own heart.

How can you eat healthy when you feel so awful?? I always equate preg sickness with hangovers and what do you want to do when you have a hangover - eat crap!! I too am living on toast, chips, mushy peas, occassional bit of salad, bacon sarnies and diet coke.

God have got scan on Thursday, bit worried now looking at that list of sins.

I think there's something in bacon sarnies which cures hangovers... science hasn't caught up with me yet, but I'm convinced greasy breakfasts DO help... That and orange juice. I can't eat bacon without a glass of orange juice for some odd reason.

I've been eating loads of dairy this (and last for that matter) pregnancy. Even to the extreme of drinking a glass of milk every now and then which I never do. My body must need the calcium.

Comfort food in general is a big thing, but then that's partly because it's winter!!

Vanilla coke is my one really naughty weekness at the moment. Have been having at least a glass a day, and I'm sure the caffeine and the sugar is not doing me that much good, but what the hell - you have to give up so many things when you're pregnant, you have to have SOME vices left, right?!

Tescos is five minutes walk away from here, and I pass by it when I take ds to nursery - it's fatal - three days a week I usually end up in there and get some sort of ready meal for "lunch 2". I'm rather partial to their American range - the cheesy nachos, potato skins, etc...
