How to hide morning sickness at work

It just started yesterday. Not been sick but just so ill I had to sit down for a bit. I'm a teacher so it's not like I can just walk off and leave class and don't want anybody at work to know for a few weeks yet as still very early days. Any ideas?

I know on other threads people have suggesting eating certain types of food little and often but again, I can't exactly whip out a slice of bread and start eating it while I teach (secondary school).

Any advice would be great Grin

I found eating little and often helped, even if it was just sucking sweets.

What you absolutely shouldn't do if you want to keep it quiet is to vomit on your boss in front of the entire office

Thank you all again for the advice. I'm pinching some of DS sweets to take to work tomorrow. Yesterday and today I've woken early and felt awful (especially in car) and it wears off by midday. I have a really crazy week this week but after that I'm defo easing my foot of the gas and going to try and take things easy until the summer. Hoping that by the time I come back the worst of it will be over.

Cola sipped regularly helped me! I'm a primary teacher and also used to keep ginger biccies in my bag, break bits off n quickly munch!

Blood sugar being low always made it worse for me - and having a dry mouth
So dextrose tablets which melt on your tongue and sips of v cold water?

You poor thing. Can you have a drink in class? Maybe peppermint tea or ginger tea in one of those thermal cups to keep it hot so you can sip it though the class. I'm not a teacher but often work in schools and it seems to be acceptable to have a cup of tea or coffee in most of the ones I have worked in! I hope you feel better soon. I remember how awful it was and I also tried to keep it quiet.

I also just rememebered someone bought me a vial of some kind of travel balm stuff with a rollerball that you were supposed to roll on your temples when you were travelling to calm you. It didn't necessarily stop me feeling sick but it did have an inoffensive smell and was good for blocking out offensive smells that would make me feel sick. Sorry I can't remember what it was called.

For me the most important thing was definately to have breakfast. Even though the last thing i wanted when I was feeling sick was to eat, when I forced myself to do so it really took the edge off - I was never actually sick on days when I'd had a small breakfast. Cereal was out for me as I couldn't stomach milk for the first 4 or 5 months of pregnancy but plain toast worked well. If you haven't time to make toast (I rarely have time for anything in the morning, esp now pregnant and tired all the time) then I recommend cereal bars esp those breakfast biscuits which were very settling on my stomach... Feel better, it doesn't last forever...
