I'm 14 weeks pregnant and everytime I bend or turn my body even a little I get bad back ache and if im quite busy during day come evening I have bad achey pain in my groin. I thought maybe round ligament pain but my friend mentioned spd to me. Could it be this? Has anyone else had it during pregnancy? X

It's definitely something to mention to your midwife at your 16 week check up. I've suffered from it for about 8 weeks now (currently 30 weeks) and am having physio and being fitted for a belt. It apparently does get worse (2nd pregnancy but first time I've had this) so getting the necessary support (in both senses!) as early as possible is a good idea.

Yeah I will mention it to her any slight turning causes pain. Didn't have this with my first two children. Hope it isn't spd and it gets better soon hate not bein able to do stuff especially cleaning up my kids mess it drives me crazy!!!

Could be... I found physio did nothing in my first pregnancy but this time I'm seeing a chiropractor and it's magic!! If you can afford it I'd thoroughly recommend it. SPD or otherwise, they will help with any aches and pains.

I saw a physio early on (15 weeks) who gave me some exercises and advice on how to avoid pain. I'm now 34 weeks and still coping without a support belt. Worth asking to be referred to see a physio if you are struggling at all.

I had spd last time and it felt more like and time I lifted a leg to walk or go up stairs a really strong achey pain went into my groin.

This time I've started pregnancy yoga and the teacher has given us lots of tips on how to avoid spd, it seems to be working so far. Might be worth looking for a class near you as they are weekly so can top up your physio?

I've had spd with both pregnancies. It's horrible. Second time round I was much more informed and began to see an osteopath at around 20 weeks. Was not as severe and much more managable. I suggest seeing an osteopath with experience in pelvic pain in pregnancy as soon as possible. Esp of your physio dept is not up to much (as mine was not).
