Vibrating Cervix

I am 35+4 and my cervix seems to be - well- vibrating! It happened for about half an hour in the bath last night, started again at 5.23am this morning and then again from about 9 until about 10.15 today.

This is my third pregnancy and I don't remember feeling this before so I wondered if any of you wise mumsnetters had any ideas about what on earth is going on!

I get the same!! I'm 22 weeks and have had it since about 16 weeks, it's like someone's strategically placed a vibrating phone up my ladybits! Grin I spoke to my midwife and she said it happens to her sometimes! (she's not pregnant!) I wonder if baby's on a nerve or something??

Rachog · 19/06/2012 11:33

Hi Kelbels, thanks for your reply, I am glad I'm not alone!

I actually had to check my phone that I wasn't sat on it or something.

I finally got through to my midwife and she said she's never heard of it but suggested baby could be lying on a nerve.

Yes, I've been getting this too. At 32+4 I think I've had this for a couple of weeks now, I think I get this about ten times a day, very odd feeling. Doesn't hurt and so not concerned, pregnancy is definitely full of new feelings!

Rachog · 19/06/2012 16:44

Lovemarmite - it is certainly a new feeling to me. It seems to have stopped for the day now but I wonder if it will come back.

If anyone gets a definitive answer as to what it is, can we update?

Thanks ladies!

Will do! Might miss it if it stops Wink

Rachog · 19/06/2012 18:46

Haha kelsbels. I found it really annoying while I was sat at work though.

I get this too! Really weird!

I had this at one point in my pregnancy, and my midwife said it was the baby making it happen due to immature nervous system.

Rachog · 19/06/2012 19:27

Mcphee, that's a new one, I wonder how they would make it happen.

It seems quite common but very unexplained.
