Femoral nerve pain

hi! Has anyone ever had this? I'm nearly 17 weeks and ended up in hospital on morphine 10 days ago for a few days. My initial visit to the dr was a nightmare with him concluding that 'maybe you shouldn't have got pregnant' and 'you won't be doing that again will you' and ' it's normal to have pain in pregnancy!' Yes mr dr I know but is it normal not to be able to walk when you have a mini bump and are an active person!

Absolute agony and went to a different gp again yesterday and he finally came to the conclusion I have a trapped femoral nerve in my right leg. Can't walk very far, Stand for for very long, sit for very long, have shooting pains all the way down leg, stairs and driving are a nightmare. I've gone from an all singing all dancing exercise freak to a hobbling limping person!

Off for emergency physio appt on Thursday very glad gp pulled some strings to get me seen quickly. Unfortunately all pain killers they have tried have made me vomit lots on top of the all day pregnancy sickness I still have! Blimey it's all good fun! This my first pregnancy and a much wanted baby but I'm finding it a massive struggle. If anyone has any tips or experience of this will be very grateful.

I have never heard it called femoral nerve pain but it sounds exactly like the sciatica I have in every pregnancy (doesn't put me off Grin). If it is the same thing it is awful and agony but I don't think you have to suffer it.

At my initial visit to the doctors he told me to just take paracetamol or have a hot bath. The pain was so bad I had time off work.

I found a pregnancy class that helped me (will find details & pm you) - especially techniques for coping when I was having an "attack".

I also eventually when to see a chiropractor who specialised in pregnancy chiro/Webster technique and it was cured in about two visits.
