Ways to get baby moving so DH can have a feel?

Hi all

Bet this is the gazillionth thread on this subject so apologies in advance :)

How can I get my little baba moving when I want to, so DH can have a feel? I'm 23 weeks and I feel her all the time, sometimes quite violently but it never seems to be when DH is around/putting his hand on my stomach.

What works for you? I find eating often gets her moving but not pratical to do it when eating my dinner/tea!

Drink a sweet, icy cold drink and sit or lie very still. Have fun!

LadyKooKoo · 13/06/2012 16:55

Exactly what sweet pea said, I had movement checks three times a week for the last 8 weeks of my pregnancy and the midwives always told me to have a cold glass of fizzy pop whilst I was there.

Orange juice - anything with sugar in it basically.

Anything cold and sweet should do it as others have said. Otherwise lying in the bath gets mine going too

Mine always starts shifting when I get in the bath. She will always, always stop when DP's hand gets within a foot of the bump, regardless though!

Eating ice dream does the trick here!

RubberBandit · 13/06/2012 17:01

A large glass of iced water drunk quickly generally works for me but I found that DP couldn't clearly feel the movements on the outside til I was a bit further along...about 27/28 weeks.

vixreyland · 13/06/2012 18:53

I was wondering exactly the same thing! Am 24 weeks and get some real hard kicks but never when my partner is waiting to feel them, she stops as if she knows we are waiting! Maybe its a bit early!x

Midgetm · 13/06/2012 19:18

It may be a bit early to feel from the outside. DD refused to move much for DP even when she was term though. Some are just stubborn that way...

When my dh puts his face really close to bump and talks to it baby starts to move. Having some chocolate works too
