Back ache tips, anyone?

I had a terrible night last night as my back was killing me all night. 38 weeks. It was sort of middle to high up the back and relentless. I couldn't ease it at all, other than a bit by walking, which aggravated my useless SPD hips and I couldn't keep it up for long. I eventually dropped back off to sleep and it's okay at the moment. Also felt very sick in the night, which didn't help.

Too hot for a hot water bottle. Any tips in case it strikes again? I have hired a tens machine for labour but haven't worked it out yet. Probably not too hard! Thanks.

Do you do any ante-natal yoga? If not, might be worth a try.

If you are in London, Six Physio does excellent physio and pilates and has a womens health specialist at the High Street Ken, Parsons Green and Monument branches. Highly recommend

Oh poor you! Sad My NHS provides physio sessions specifically for pregnancy pains. I think the most helpful exercise they showed us was to stand with knees slightly bend, hip-width apart. Then to dip your tailbone under and back repeatedly. (So it like you're pointing your groin slightly up towards the ceiling?!?) I think it stretches out the spine. I also find the cat/cow yoga move helps (although don't dip your spine as this can aggravate the ache)

When this doesn't work for me I put a hot water bottle against the muscles which are giving me grief... Feel better soon!
