We are in the 1st month of pregnancy and i want to be of best help to my wife, also would aspire to be a good dad. Please suggest some books, reading material or anything else which would help me prepare well.

What to Expect when you're Expecting is the classic guide, I think, we both found it useful. I'm sure the MN books are bril too. You'll both find lots of advice on here for anything that occurs.

Lots of help round the house when she's feeling super tired in the first trimester, enjoy the blooming second stage and tell her how beautiful she is, and then lots of foot rubs, hair stroking, fetching of cake and not minding being booted out of bed in favour of 14 assorted pillows in the third. NEVER tell her she is huge/like a cuddly hippo/ ask when Greenpeace are coming to refloat her. NOT funny.

During birth, tell her how amazing she is. Buy her something beautiful when your child is born. Be proud. Be involved. Share, cry, cuddle. Good luck on this amazing adventure.
