Can round ligament pain strike when you're just lying/sitting still

Ive been getting sharp pains in my tummy today. I've had what I believe to be round ligament pain before as I move suddenly or stand up suddenly etc. But today I'm being particularly lazy and have had a sharp pain just off centre to the right a couple of inches above my pubic bone. Is this also round ligament pain? Can it strike when just lying still?

Funny you should ask this, I was wondering the same thing yesterday eve.

I had a series of stabbing pains on my right hand side, for a minute or so, then went away. And I'd been doing nothing but sitting on the sofa for hours! Blush

So, I don't know, but I hope so (as otherwise I'd have something else to worry about!).

I've had this too, plus dull aching in front and back. My midwife said all of it was ligament pain and that you can get it whenever, still or moving as it's all the ligaments stretching out. Got a bit now too. I've noticed it tends to go hand in hand with quieter baby and a bit of a growth spurt!

Sounds like it must be then, thanks ladies. The stabbing pains you describe minipie sound exactly like what I've been getting.

I think you're right sparklekitty about the growth spurt. I have been quite achey generally and think I'm having a growth spurt at the mo.

I hope they are ligament pains, otherwise I have no idea what my stabbing pains are!! I am 20 weeks, how pregnant are you all if you don't mind me asking?

I'm 18+3 ellangirl and I have gone from no bump to definite bump in the last week and a half so im hoping it's round ligament pain.
