Pelvic pain

Hi, hoping you lovely people can help please?

I am pregnant with DC3 and really suffering with SPD-started at about 11 weeks (much earlier than with my last two pregnancies) as well as bad varicose veins 'down there'-how glamorous...! Grin

I am constantly feeling like I want to walk around with my hands between my legs, holding everything 'up' and supporting it! My midwives haven't been particularly helpful and the pregnancy physio simply gave me a leaflet of hints and tips to help prevent the pain, none of which have really helped.

Am now 23 weeks pregnant and was wondering if any of you have bought pelvic girdles or support belts that you can recommend? Ta!

Hi urbanturban sorry to hear about your difficulties. Have a scan through today's threads there are several really helpful ones about SPD/PGP.

I'm expecting DC3 too and have had SPD in all 3 pregnancies so I thoroughly sympathise with you! I've been seeing a chiropractor this time and it's been fantastic, I'm so much better than this point last time (20 wks). Needless to say we're having to pay for the treatment as the NHS doesn't believe in treating women with SPD/PGP just handing out photocopied excercise sheets and equipement that doesn't always help.

I was given a support belt last time by NHS physio clinic that sort of helped a bit and I'll get it out towards the end again if I need it this time but am optimistic that my chiropractor will help me keep stable enough not to need it.

Check out the other threads!

Thanks so much MoonHare for your advice-it was actually someone mentioning a serola belt in another thread that prompted this one! Think I will investigate chiropractors in my area, sounds like its helping you a lot!

I was given a support belt by physio like this pelvic instability belt which is good for support, though unglamorous! It really does hold everything together and feel very secure. Could you ask for something like this, especially as you've got a way to go?
