Is there anything I can do to treat it apart from scheriproct ointment. As im not constipating atm even though ive had it in the past but been treating it with the ointment on and off for past 7 yrs now.

In this preg, ive been having alot of diahorrea and it seems to inflamed it in the past 2 wks as it is going round......it is worser than ever and worried about pushing it out too much during vaginal birth. as it did happen on my last vaginal birth.

Thanks

I had piles in the late stages of all three of my pregnancies and it was horrible, really painful and uncomfortable, so I can sympathise with you. The only thing that really helped (apart from giving birth!) was getting Anusol Plus HC suppositoires, they provided relief and reduced the swelling. I had to get the GP to prescribe them.
Sitting in a warm bath with a few drops of tea tree oil seemed to help a bit too. Luckily for me they calmed down after the birth. I hope you find some relief and good luck with the rest of your pregnancy .

I'm totally with you on this. Managed to get all the way to about 37 weeks with dc3 without piles. Then got them and when I gave birth I had the most enormous haemorrhoid for about 6 weeks after he was born. I'm terrified of it happening again this time.

My advice to you would be to eat ultra healthy from now until the birth. Fibre rich cereal for breakfast, every day. Totally avoid any food that will bung you up or make your stools loose. For me pizza is the devils work, always constipated me then gives me piles!

Pelvic floor exercises are excellent because they increase blood flow to the area and aid the healing process.

Every time you go, clean the area thoroughly with moist tissue which is far kinder to your but than toilet roll. But make sure you dry yourself well afterwards.

Keep applying the cream as often as you are allowed to. Remember it doesn't just act to reduce the piles, it is an excellent lubricant also.

A very shallow but hot bath does wonders for pain relief too.

You've hopefully got plenty of time to get on top of it.
