aaaagh I have the most horrendous toothache in a tooth with a dodgy filling that has been troubling me for last 3 years (had it replaced 3 times!)
I am too scared to go to dentist incase they say I need immediate treatment and dont let me have any local anaesthetic.
Does anyone know if novocaine is safe when you're pregnant?
Thanks!

Local Anaesthetic totally safe. If possible avoid one called citanest which has an oxytocin-like vaso constrictor. tbh it's not used that much in healthy adults.

I'm currently 27 weeks and suffering with toothache, was seen by dentist on At the weekend and he gave me a local anaesthetic with no problem. It's the 3rd time I've had local anaesthetic whilst pregnant. Also I'm booked to have this tooth removed later this week under a local.
