My friend found out yesterday she's pregnant, and she's approx 30 weeks with a girl.

It's clearly all come as a huge shock to her. She was just doing up her house to sell and move closer to friends. She doesn't live with her BF (I think they've been together 2 and a half years). She says it just wasn't something they were close to considering and there's so much to sort out and get her head around.

So did you find out late in pregnancy and how did you manage to get it all straight in your head, let alone get all the essentials, maternity leave etc sorted?

I hope she's doing okay, I wish her all the luck and success in the world. I was two months early and weighed 3lbs and now I'm grand Smile she's in the best care xx

Op If you pm me your address I have a few teeny tiny girl clothes from my premature dd that I'd gladly give to your friend. Just a couple of tiny babygrows and a few vests. Every little helps though!

Hope she is ok. What a shock!

JollyBear that's so kind of you, I'll pm you in a minute. Thanks

Unfortunately I'm going away for a week tomorrow and I feel so guilty that I won't be there for her until afterwards. Today she can't really deal with visitors as she's speaking to the doctors etc in the antenatal unit. But her boyfriend is with her at the moment so that's good.
Luckily once I'm back I can spend lots of time with her as I work pt and can get gp's to look after dd.

The baby's not on oxygen and it sounds like she's doing really well.

I don't think any of it has sunk in at all yet. I had tears in my eyes when I found out that the baby had born and didn't even know if they were happy tears or upset tears, so god knows how she feels!

StrandedBear, that is some story. You sound incredibly strong. The hairs on the back of my neck stood up when I read that. And your partner sounds like one in a million.
And Itsmylastone, I hope your friend's baby is ok - again, another amazing story.
Beachbreak, thanks - I'm ok though. Loads of friends and family and can genuinely say I feel very content

Hope your friends lo carries on doing well :)

I found out at about 36 weeks but got 2 weeks notice before DS was born. Was a shock, but everything has turned out well and when I hear people complain about pregnancies I am quite pleased I managed to skip that bit!

Thanks for posting Sirzy. I'm glad it's turned out well for you. I'm worried about my friend getting PND or PTSD now.
