ooooo i am waking up in the night in a right old panic... we run a business between OH and I, and I took a big job on for 28th June, my due date is 17th June so I wasn't going to take on the work, but they are a lovely company and tbh we need the money... so it means my OH will need to go and set it all up on 27th and be there on 28th.. now I am in a complete panic that those will be the dates that it all kicks off with babysurf. which is a possibility. feel a wreck and am worried I will put my blood pressure sky high by worrying and freaking out. sensible advice please, wandered around saying we have to cancel the job this morning but we have most of it organised and have spend allot getting to this stage... crying surf x

Is this your first? DS was a week early and he was my first - so could all be done and dusted by then.

Don't panic. Is there someone you could at least brief with the information, so that they could go with your OH or take over from him if needs be?

Also, can you make the client aware that this might be the case? Just do a couple of things that will help cover some eventualities, then cross your fingers.

Ok, deep slow breaths.

The only way you're going to make yourself feel better about this is by formulating some back up plans.

What is probably most important is working out a plan B for if you're in labour over 27th/ 28th. This would either be someone who can help with the work or someone who can be with you in labour. Work out what is the most desirable/ appropriate option and go from there.

Definitely make sure the client is aware of the situation, if they are lovely they'll understand.

preparation, organization, totally agree with SkiingMum and Furry, back up plan, communication, breathe in and stay cool, you will go through this if you stay calm and focused. Good luck

Ok breathe. My husband had the opportunity to work at the Olympics from 16th July - 12th August. I am due on 24th July. This means he will be away and may not even make it back for the birth.

To help me in the first few weeks I've arranged for a local nanny to come and see me for a few hours each day. Does the money you'll make justify getting in some outside help?

What always calms me down is knowing that women in third world countries do this everyday with no help and in terrible conditions. You will be absolutely fine! Think of the long game!
