Tell your GP and Consultant, as soon as possible. At 35 weeks I'm not sure that they can do that much - all I got was a physio referral but crutches helped!

It is sodding agony so good luck, but everyone needs to know asap so if you go into labour they aren't trying to get you in positions that will hurt you etc. Keep your knees together when you're getting out of the car or turning over in bed (put a pillow between knees as well!) and try not to overdo stairs, getting out of the bath etc.

Rest as much as you can rather than dashing about to new appointments. On Wed mention it to your consultant and ask for painkillers to be prescribed. It's probably a bit late for physio (happy to be corrected)- rest rest rest is the most important thing this late in the pg.
Poor you, it is rubbish, I remember.

Thank you so much. I have read up on Dr Google. Probably shudnt have done but i think its PGP eather than SPD but bloody hell it hurts. I feel awful ringing in work but am scared of gettin on the motorway and getting that horrible shooting pain and my leg locking. Sounds very extreme haha! I think i might ring the GP and see if they will do an over the phone thing - i think mine does that. Had such a lovely pregnancy and now i am being a mardy bum :(

Shellywelly - I mentioned it to my midwife and got a physio appt 2-3 days later. My pain was all at the front of my pelvis so I was fine if I was standing still but walking/going up stairs was so painful. I was fitted with a very large elastic belt type affair which helped immensely - it lifted my bump so it all the strain wasn't going through my pelvis. As I was going for a c-section, delivery positions etc were not relevant but the physio did mention that they would have otherwise advised me on delivery positions and once I was in the system ante-natally, I could self-refer back to the physics after delivery if my pain failed to settle.

I would definitely recommend mentioning to the midwives rather than GP or consultant as the midwives are more likely to know who to ring etc.

Hope you manage to see someone soon, the pain is awful but mine did settle very quickly after the birth so hopefully not much longer for you now.

Thanks cairn i can't decide whether to ring my midwife or GP. Just really don't want to waste anyones time unescessarily. Maybe i am just paranoid as i have a couple of friends who constantly ring their midwives for everything - i mean everything!!! Haha!

I had a horrible time with PGP from 16 weeks! I didn't know what it was at first and when I described it to my midwife she told me to put up and shut up and get used to the various pains that you have when pregnant. It wasn't until around 22 weeks when I had a routine apt with my GP and had done my research that I raised it with him. He said he'd arrange physio for me, I got an appointment through the post a week later, went to said appointment and it was a hospital GP who assessed me to see whether i needed physio, he refered me and then I finally got an appointment a week later. It turned out it was a group session where they show you the sorts of exercises to do when you have PGP and not actual physio. I was livid having explained to both doctors prior to this session that I had already been doing these exercises!! I did get some crutches at this session and the physio lady also arranged some 1-1 physio with me. I ended up having about 4 sessions I think and that helped.

Do your pelvic floor exercises and clench your bum cheeks too (weird but it helps). I also took a hot water bottle to work and had it on my pelvis. Heat and cold help so if you've got an ice pack then use that in the evenings.

By all means mention it to your midwife but they might not be able to do anything about it in time, although it looks like other peoples experience is different to my own so you might have more luck. My doctor did prescribe me codine towards the end (over the phone) because I literally couldn't move and I couldn't get to the hospital for more physio either. I couldn't even get off the sofa and DH used to have to help me get into bed but the codine helped. I used to take it with paracetamol.

Aw lizzy thats awful - what a horrible experience! I hope they give me something - my right leg feels like it wants to dislocate itself. Hahaha!!
