the nausea is killing me I know I'm lucky as I've never been sick, but that overwhelming feeling of sickyness (and tiredness) is horrible.

Is there anything that helps? I'm avoiding anything sugary and creamy.

is the nausea at any particular time of day?
I found small regular snacks helpful - used to keep packets of dried through in my desk draw to nibble on throughout the day. ginger may also help slightly.

it starts in the afternoon and reaches a crescendo about now. Funny what you say about snacks: I feel fine after eating something (but not anything suagry) then about 15 mins later the nausea comes on again.

I found travel bands helpful and also ginger tea (tastes bleugh, but helped a lot with nausea). I ate a lot of ginger biscuits too. Agree with regular snacks too.

eat, eat and eat some more

I gave up worrying about what I ate and continually nibbled on anything that didn't turn my stomach, I also found it difficult to drink so I froze bottles of water and squash and drank them as they melted I'm sure this helped too. My sickness and nausea lifted at about 15 wks. You have my sympathy and I hope you feel better soon.

Homeopathic remedy Ipecac is good. I used that with the travel bands which did help a lot. I also used to eat toast with a bit of honey when I really needed something sweet.

treacletart · 17/02/2006 18:02

ginger tea, fiery ginger beer (yum), and travel/sea bands

earthtomummy · 17/02/2006 18:05

Sleep. Travel bands. Ice lollies. Coke helped too although I know it's not the best thing for you. I threw up for 2 entire pregnancies so you have my sympathy.

i found dry cornflakes or rich tea type biscuits useful, its ctrap i know am in same boat.

BettySpaghetti · 17/02/2006 18:20

Acupuncture may help a bit
Some grapefruit essential oil on a tissue to sniff every now and again
Eating little and VERY often

Highlander · 17/02/2006 18:26

cheers ladeez

I feel a bit of a fraud for starting this, as I know there are loads of people practically bedridden with sickness I think I've got off quite lightly really.

Highlander I had 24hr nausea for at least the first 4mths of my pregnancy. I wasn't actually sick either but the nausea is horrible, you have my sympathy

I think I felt better when I was eating something, just had to eat whatever I felt like really. Couldn't stomach ginger tea but Canada dry ginger ale is quite nice. I also had terrible heartburn so was drinking milk by the gallon...

Hope you feel better soon

I'm on my 3rd pregnancy & can honestly say that morning sickness is worse than labour. At least labour lasts less than a day & there's a light at the end of the tunnel. I'm only 7 weeks & my kids don't recognise the slow moving, burping, bleary monster I've turned into! Aaargh! Roll on week 14/15

Nbg · 18/02/2006 20:59

I found fruit helped alot and lots of water.

Travel bands too.

I've heard alot of people raving about Homeopathy.

chipmonkey · 18/02/2006 21:57

Delivery was the only thing that worked for me! Sorry, Highlander I know that's not helpful!

gscrym · 18/02/2006 21:59

Mashed potatoes seemed to work for me.
