I don't know if this is in the right plac to talk about, however I need advice!

Okay, so my first is 11months,2weeks.
And now iv just found out I'm pregnant again!
Does anyone think this is too soon? I was hoping to wait until my first was at least 2years old.
Has anyone else had children this close before? Is it hard?

I'm also scared because when my first was born she wa really ill and very nearly didn't make it through, & now I'm prone to have ill babies:(! ( my first is fine now! Couldn't get any healthier)

I'm still in shock!

Congratulations!

It isn't too soon at all!
My eldest was five months old when I got pregnant with DC2 (total surprise!Blush). There is a fourteen month gap between them. It was hard but not too bad and I would do it again if I wasn't ttc no4 and not getting too old. They are brilliant friends and after the intial year they pretty much were into the same things really. He is a smart cookie and knows much more so much earlier on because of her leading the way!

I rememeber speaking to someone just after DC2 was born, who also had a 14 month gap, asking would it be horrid and she smiled and said "it is lovely", I totally agree now.

Lots of people aim for an 18 month gap and you will have a bit longer. It will be fine!

What happened to DD? I doubt that you are prone to ill babies- sometimes it is just one of those things!

Good luck xx

Thank you!:-)
She was Born with pneumonia, she had a fit, hole in her heart(still got), chest infection, her heart and lungs weren't working properly so she was on a lot of medication in an incubator( she was on time) and wa on a ventilator for a while. She had 7 major problem and was told to expect the worse. Midwifes said this can also happen to othwr babiea if i become pregnant again:/ . Also because of my blood type I have to be ever so careful in my pregnancy because my of my blood type and slight bang to the stomach can cause my blood to eat the babies blood cells and kill it. Xxx

You really went through it! At least this time, they will know your previous history and keep a close eye on you and baby. Extra scans etc.

Are you Rheus negative?

Loubilouu · 18/05/2012 13:54

I know! Yes that's very true, I'm just scared because that was the moat scariest time of my life, & I don't want to got through it again.
& yes I am x

It must have been awful! I can't imagine what it was like. Things aren't set in stone and even though it happened once it doesn't mean it will again. They will look after you.

I know lots of people who are rheus negative and have had lots of babies. One of them has just had DC3. You just have to be careful and look after yourself, like you would anyway xx

It sounds terrifying. No wonder you're frightened of going through it all again.

In terms of your worry about DC2 having similar health issues, you could ask your GP for a referral to clinical genetics. They will be able to discuss the likelihood of this, and possibly will give you a percentage-type estimate... and may be able to refer you for counselling to discuss your fears.

But in terms of a 19-20 month age gap... honestly, it's wonderful. My DCs are just over 18 months apart, and even though DS isn't yet 1, they're so affectionately fond of one another.

I hope your gap isn't too small as I got a bfp yesterday and my dd is 7.5 months! People tell me it will be great!

I wouldn't worry too much about being Rhesus Negative. I am, and although I'm only having my first child at the moment, all of the midwives and doctors have told me that it really isn't a big problem. It's only if you start to bleed internally and it crosses the placenta, but Anti-D injections are there to help. I know plenty of women in the same boat who have had multiple children :)
