Just found out am pregnant with dc number 2. based on baby center calculations will be due around 20th January 2013.

My pregnancy with dd was awful. water infections, bacterial infections which started labour at 30weeks. i gained 4 stone and just sat the whole time feeling sorry for myself.

labour was equally as awful. 72 hours in labour ended with an emergency section and me and dd in for over a week being treated for horrible infections.

This time round i have no option of being poorly due to being a childminder (1 mindee) so i have dd who is 2.2 and mindee who is 16 months.

I also MUST have a natural birth. need to get back on my feet straight away after to get back to work. Dh will only get 2 weeks off with dd he took a month off.

I already feel different this time round. with dd i couldn't move without being sick for the first 3 months, i feel full of energy and a bit sickly at night but would rather have it at night than day.

So do any of you lovely people have any tips to help me achieve what i need from this pregnancy?

My advice would be to eat the best food you can possibly eat. A healthy balanced diet as we all know is key to staying healthy and not piling on the weight! Also regular exercise which i'm sure you get running around after the children :)

It's good you're feeling full of energy, but try not to over exert yourself!

Wishing you the best of luck!

Thanks swiss.

We defiantly need to eat properly we tend to just throw stuff together.

Im thinking of trying to do a pregnancy yoga class but need to find a Saturday class.

Would be good to hear from anyone who's had a successful vbac

i'm new to the site so i don't know what ANY of the short hands like DC or DH or vbac mean so if you could fill me in i'd REALLY apprecciate it!

i'm 36+ weeks with my second preg. My first son is 3 1/2. I actually don't work because we had a bad experience with a childminder that resulted in a child negalect charge last October. So last October I quit my fulltime job to play full time mum (actually it's harder work than going to work 6 days a week lol) Not long after I left work we discovered I was pregnant again. My first pregnancy was a breeze. It wasn't a planned pregnancy and i still lived with my parents and my partner with his parents but we were happy anyway. my mum made sure i ate healthy meals (i don't mean she did it all for me btw she just kept asking me and checking up on me) my only niggles the whole way through were the odd weeks where i'd be tired and then right near the end i got heartburn and hip pains. My whole labour lasted 4 hours start to finish and was a straightfoward natural birth with only gas and air. my son was 8lbs2 1/2 which apparently is fairly large for a first baby but obviously not huge.

this time i've been more ill but i've found a small glass of iced tea or a crumpet or something works wonders for morning sickness. and making sure i get enough sleep has been a key factor. with kids already its easy to go to bed late and get up early and not even realise you're not getting enough sleep until you suddenly start feeling run down so remember to get plenty of sleep at night. i've done light exercise this time but not as much as last time because i started getting hip pain at 20 weeks this time and it's REALLY painful now! however i'm still hopeful that between gentle stretching and exercise and trying to stay healthy that'll i'll still be able to have a straightforward labour again.
