do you get more sickness/nausea with girls than boys?

This is my theory, for what it's worth - what do you think? Most of my pregnant friends with nausea/vomiting/feeling terrible etc have gone on to have girls. And those who haven't seem to have boys and kept better in general.

Of course this is a bit of a generalisation, but I am curious if other agree (or not!)

That was the case for me!

MaeMobley · 16/05/2012 19:46

I did. But I do know mothers of girls who were never sick at all.

NickNacks · 16/05/2012 19:46

I've had both and sickness was exactly the same.

I had other ailments with ds1 such as nose bleeds, heartburn, leg cramps etc and none of these with ds2 or dd.

So I don't seem to fit your theory.

McKayz · 16/05/2012 19:47

I have 2 boys and now expecting a girl. I had no sickness at all with the boys and quite a bit with this one. So it is true for me.

Bartiimaeus · 16/05/2012 19:49

I hope not cos i was sick several times a day for 7 months with DS and then occasionally sick up to and during the birth...

buzzgirly · 16/05/2012 19:51

I have one of each and had no sickness with either of them. I was much more tired with ds but I put that down to having to run round after a 3 year old all day.

Kveta · 16/05/2012 19:51

sick with both, but it was more predictable with DS than it has been this time. lost a lot more weight with him than this one though.

peachypips · 16/05/2012 19:52

Puked like a bd with both. They were boys.

bibbitybobbitybunny · 16/05/2012 19:53

Yes, I did. I have a girl and a boy. With the girl pg the nausea was so bad that I couldn't eat and it continued throughout the whole pg (but did ease off after about 20 weeks), with the boy pg the nausea was pretty bad and I came close to throwing up a couple of times, but, oddly, I found that eating cheese ib crakers or crisps only seemed to ease it. It also got better much quicker, at around 14 or so weeks.

rubyslippers · 16/05/2012 19:54

Puked for three months with DD

was sick once with DS

Rosebud05 · 16/05/2012 19:54

I was definitely sicker with my girl pregnancies than my boy one.

MrsPaynie · 16/05/2012 20:02

Other way round for me, DS I was sick for months! DD I didn't even feel nauseous once. This pregnancy I'm suffering with awful sickness again :-/ but will have to wait another 6 months to find out what the flavour of this one is :-)

happy2bhomely · 16/05/2012 20:07

Felt sick with both, but actually vomited much more with my girls than my boys.

usualsuspect · 16/05/2012 20:08

Both the same with my daughters and son

CharltonHairstyle · 16/05/2012 20:09

I wasn't sick at all through my pregnancy - I had a girl! Sorry!

CODwidow · 16/05/2012 20:12

I have 4 ds's and was really sick with all of them now expecting again and hardly any sickness so we'll see??

LadyInPink · 16/05/2012 20:13

Sick as a dog pretty much the whole pg. Had the same theory as you and was not at all surprised to be told I was having a girl. Mind you my sis had heartburn and no sickness and also had a girl Confused

Juule · 16/05/2012 20:15

Not true for me. But then I never had any sickness with any of them.

COCKadoodledooo · 16/05/2012 20:34

I've only had boys - with one I was sick at 6pm every day for the first 6 months, with the other it was irregular, often, and went on the whole pigging time.

whenhenshaveteeth · 16/05/2012 20:48

With my first it went like this:
Hardly any sickness
Craves sour and salty stuff
... it was a boy

With this one:
3 months of feeling queasy
utter exhaustion
Craves fruit and salad
... and it is another boy!

Goes to show it's all gobbledygook, but I know it's fun trying to guess!
