Anyone else find pregnancy so much harder than having a newborn?!

Only 15 weeks pregnant with DC3 and all going well, but still struggling. Just feel so emotional, have pretty much zero patience with DC1 and DC2 - feel sorry for them!

Can't wait for baby to arrive!!

ME ME ME!

Pregnant (20wks) with DC2 and it's hard!!
Hyperemesis, pelvic issues and totally & utterly knackered!
I too was impatient with my lovely DS1...though I seem to have got over that in the last few weeks (thankfully as I felt awful however much I couldn't seem to help myself!).

Newborn babies are easy by comparison to me...

I feel your pain!

yes !!! had ds 3 yesterday :) and so much happier to be able to move around and do stuff !!

TeaJunky · 15/05/2012 18:28

YES!
Oh God OP, yes! I am so fed up and I'm only 11 weeks...constant ALL day sickness, exhaustion, dizziness. I just cent be bothered to do anything, but I have to as have seven weeks of a demanding professional course left to complete SadSad

SwissArmyWife · 15/05/2012 18:55

Yep, would be fine if I didn't have a toddler to run around after, but it makes it soooooo hard. :(

Nearly 15 weeks.

Littleplasticpeople · 15/05/2012 19:00

Yes, immeasurably easier! I'm 19 weeks, have had HG since 4 weeks, with 2 under fives to look after. I can't wait to pop this baby and say thank god I'm not pg anymore!

Elpis · 15/05/2012 19:57

Oh yes. The first trimester was just ghastly. Would lie on DD's bed trying to stay sufficiently awake to play whichever mind-numbing game or puzzle she, poor thing, wanted to tackle. Work is stressful and I am not tackling it as energetically as I should. 20w tomorrow ... And I need a holiday - no respite since three-day break in September, and never more than 10 hours free of childcare in three years.

Just want to lie still for an hour...

iloveholidays · 15/05/2012 20:05

So glad I'm not the only one!

So fed up with losing my patience with my little ones, unfortunately my 14 month old is quite clingy at the moment so struggling to do anything, unless I just want to listen to her whinging which isn't fun!

Luckily the morning sickness is mostly over, although still feel rough if I let myself get hungry.

I get offered so much help when I have a newborn... hardly any when pregnant - why is that?!?!?

Also, fed up with crying over anything!! Burst into tears when my 3 year old fell off her chair today... why is that?!?!?!?

iloveholidays, my 14mo is clingy at the moment too, so I know exactly what it's like!

Got fed up the other day of being inside so just plonked her in the pushchair and went for a walk in the pouring rain. Was knackered and soaked afterwards but at least I had an hour to hear my own thoughts!

ME!!!

8 weeks to go and i have been a miserable cow the whole way through, i have thrown up at least 3 times a day since november, i am fed up and cant wait for him to just bloody arrive! And yes i know he will be worth it, (thats such a helpful comment when i can barely walk from spd and crying from siatica btw!) bu i am looking forward to being up all night with my lovely newborn rather than hugging the toilet bowl with acid reflux...

and breathe :D

Catsycat · 16/05/2012 00:43

I might not be saying this after ELCS next monday, but yes a newborn would be preferable to looking after 2 preschoolers while acting as a body double for Moby Dick, waddling around with what feels like a small melon pressing on my crotch (but I assume is a head). Have had 9 months of very variable energy levels, every stupid cold going (got one now, and seriously it needs to go away before Monday!), and various aches and pains, as well as the nightly sleep-interruption of the toilet visit! Added to that is the constant worrying over every little thing (too much movement, not enough movement, what was that pain, will the test results be OK) which has been a real issue this pg - I had a mmc in June last year, and it's infused this pg with paranoia...

Looking forward to it being a memory, and am stopping after 3 DC, so never again!

seabuckthorn · 16/05/2012 09:47

Oh yes! Not so much currently, minus the horrendous tiredness! But the not so distant memories of DS2, where I had SPD, stuck inside most of the time. It was blooming awful lugging my bump around and just getting up from the floor when I did play with poor DS1 "be careful of mummy's tummy", my whole body ached!

I'm 14 weeks with DC3 today!

Well with dc1 I found the pregnancy easier than the newborn bit. Had some time to rest in the pregnancy as no children at the time and when dc was born he always wanted to be held which was very tiring.

With dc2 however it was the reverse. Felt unwell in the pregnancy, really bad sickenss and then bad back. Not so much rest with having dc1 already. Once dc2 was born I felt better and he was such an easy baby compared to dc1.
