Just wondering if anyone has had similar movements, im 27+1 and since Friday babys movements have been v low, I can hardly feel them compared to the past 7 weeks when they have been big high up kicks.
Dp and I both think hes changed position (we had a 4d scan on Weds and near the end of that he was head down) But it's really worrying me and I have been thinking of calling midwife, but I can still feel him iyswim.

Anyone else been the same?

If you're worried, please go and get yourself checked just to put your mind at ease.

But I would say it's likely that your baby has just shifted a bit. They are still pretty small at 27 weeks so have enough room to hide. I felt my DS down low lots throughout my pregnancy (about where your knicker line is), I remember saying this to the midwife who said it was fine. It was only nearer the end I started getting kicks higher up.

Oh, and yes midwife said it was probably the head I could feel. I was worried in case it was the baby's nose and it took after DH...

Agree with Queen, go and get yourself checked out. It is probably nothing but if its causing you concern you need checking out Smile.

I'm 29+4 and over the last fortnight or so my baby's movements have varied a lot. Some days I feel it all day long, some big jumps and shudders, lots of little bumps and kicks and just generally a lot of squirming. Other days I feel almost nothing, a few squirms low down or in random places. On the days when its quieter I still feel movements throughout the day, its just noticeably softer and duller almost.

I did freak myself out to start with but I just figure that there must be lots of things affecting it - how busy/active I am during the day, what I eat (for example, I sometimes give it a caffeine hit and it goes crazy!), and of course the position of the baby. I've had a couple of growth scans in the last 2-3 weeks and one midwife told me (after I rang in a panic saying the movements had changed) that the babies often move away from the 'surface' after a scan so movements can be a bit different. I had another scan on Friday and - surprise surprise - the last couple of days have been quieter. I figure the baby has swam back into the depths to get away from the prodding :-)

On the quieter days I do sometimes make a point of lying down after a cold drink to get a few reassuring movements, just to put my mind at ease, and that usually works.

The official advice always seems to be - speak to someone if you're worried, and that lots of women know intuitively what feels right and wrong for their baby, so go with your instincts. But having said that I think its perfectly normal for the baby to change position and this can really affect how you feel it move.

If it doubt, ring - noone will tell you off for checking it out.

Hope this helps.
