Is it just me? Surely not! Who else is expecting DC4? (Or even has had DC4 in recent memory?)

I'm 28 weeks now and feel so much worse than I remember feeling with any of the others Sad. Is this normal? I have all kinds of random aches and pains, frequent fairly intense BHs already, I feel huge, occasional heartburn, decreased appetite, and worst of all I am totally and utterly exhausted ALL the bloody time Sad. Even if I get loads of sleep, I'm still tired, and when it's really bad I feel nauseous too. Given that I usually go past my EDD, I basically have 13-14 more weeks of this, potentially including 3 weeks of the school hols whilst I'm mahoosive, hot and more pregnant than most women are ever

I'm also wondering how other people's other DCs are coping? It's hard to know what are the random ups and downs of life for them that happen all the time anyway, and what's related to Mummy being pregnant and useless Sad. When DC3 was born my eldest was only 4.5 years. This time I have a 7 year old, almost 5 year old and a toddler. The 7 yr old is a fragile grump-bag Confused, though not sure it's anything to do with me or not!

Yes I was more tired, spd started soooooooooo early, got aneamic early on (have you had yours checked).

The DS were okay eldest was 8.5, younger ones were just 3 and nearly 2 so pretty oblivious tbh!

Hang in there, my induction was booked for 42 weeks and yep I was induced but it was fab birth - by the far the best/easiest Grin

RnB · 12/05/2012 20:06

Hello! I'm 21 weeks with dc4. Yes everything is starting earlier this time, from the bump to the aches and pains!

Am also dreading the holidays with an 11yr old, 10 yr old and 2 yr old to entertain whilst heavily pg Shock

needsomesunshine · 12/05/2012 20:09

I'm so glad you started this! At last a group that don't say "what! Your fourth!" when you talk. Grin truth be told its my fifth child but fourth pregnancy due to twins & I am 26 weeks.

PestoPenguin · 12/05/2012 20:16

Yippee! It's not just me Grin. I knew there had to be some others out there somewhere.

I'm feeling v cheated at the moment. 20 weeks of nausea and vomiting, followed by a couple of weeks feeling OK ish, and then straight into tiredness and feeling big Sad. The last two pregnancies were a breeze in comparison.

So sorry to hear you have SPD Random, that must be v tough. I had a blood test this week, but no results yet. I'd be v surprised if I'm anaemic. At booking mine was 13.5 and ususally it remains pretty high throughout. I don't think I've ever been anaemic in my life.

6 Sad

The time goes by soooooooooooo quickly, eldest is 15 Shock how did that happen!

We only had 2 home at tea time today and both dh and I said how strange it was, far too quiet Smile

SpringFlowers · 12/05/2012 20:29

Ooh, hello! I am 4 weeks with #4 so very early days and very exciting. I have 3 dd's and already this pregnancy is different. The others were all really similar, but this time I am already shattered and feel sick sick sick. Usually I don't get sick before week six. How old are all of your children?

PestoPenguin · 12/05/2012 20:36

Hello Springflowers Smile Ugh, the sickness is SO hard, you have my sympathies.

My last 2 pregnancies were v similar, but this one has been more like the first one, which was also hard going (36 weeks vomiting anyone Shock?). However, we know this one is the same gender as the last two, and the opposite of our eldest, so pretty certain that's not a factor. My others are 7, nearly 5 and 2.5. Been feeling v overwhelmed by them all today and having nagging doubts that we may have overstretched our sanity with 3 mever mind 4! Just as their physical needs seem to be lessening and they get a little bit older, they just want our atttention all the time. I imagine (!!) a sleepy breastfed newborn will sotrt of slot in quite happily, but am already dreading the crawling baby phase and then later doing the toddler bit again, whilst everyone else clamours for what they want Confused. It's all a bit daunting.

hmm springflowers, could be twins Grin

I was feeling unwell before my period was late with #4 and so so shattered!

SpringFlowers · 13/05/2012 06:51

Twins? That would be fierce! Babies 4 & 5?

Moominsummermadness · 13/05/2012 10:02

Hello,
I'm 21 weeks with no. 4, have 3 DDs, aged 10, 8 and 5. I feel much more tired this time, am still waiting for the 2nd trimester surge of energy to kick in, somehow I don't think it will! The sickness/nausea went on for longer this pregnancy, although thankfully the actual sickness stopped at about 14 weeks, and the nausea about 2 weeks ago. Didn't think it was ever going to end! SPD seems to be making an appearance, was about 24 weeks when it started with DC3. I've got a midwife appointment in 2 weeks, so I'll mention it then.

What is really getting on my nerves is people assuming that we're having another baby in the hope that we'll have a boy. I'm so sick of the comments- 'do you know what you're having' me- 'no, we'll wait and see like we did with the others'. 'But it would be lovely if you have a boy, won't it?' me- 'yes, but it would be just as lovely if we have a girl!'. GRRRRRRRR!!! Infact, DH has said to me that he actually hopes that we have another girl!

RandomMess · 13/05/2012 10:37

I was very relieved when the early scan confirmed only one baby!!

I have 4 dds and got a bit sick of the comments too when truthfully I'd only just got to the point where I wouldn't have been disappointed if it were a boy. It's fab having 4 the same - shout boys/girls instead of names or "children" fewer toys, more wear out of clothes that get passed down, easier for room sharing as they get older etc etc etc Grin

RandomMess · 13/05/2012 10:39

Remember the best treatment for SPD is lots of rest, and not straining, carrying lifting etc - the other thing that made a huge difference for me was an osteopath, you need to ring around and ask as treatment for woman who are pregnant is an additional course/qualification so not all have done it and my other criteria was one with easy nearby parking!

PestoPenguin · 13/05/2012 11:52

Oh yes, I was v relieved when it became apparent that I was bang on the right size for one baby and then the scan confirmed that. I'd felt so so dreadful early on that at one stage I was genuinely concerned it could be twins.

I'm delighted we are having one of the same flavour as the previous two. I would have been v happy also with the opposite, but am having such fun getting rid of all of one gender's clothing -we have 7 years worth!! If I'm honest, then with DC3 there was a twinge of disappointment when we had the gender confirmed, but I was over it within a day, so not a big deal. It's funny though, I've always 'known' which gender my babies are before I've found out, and this time was the only time I've been wrong!

Random mess, I could've written your post word for word! I have all boys including twins & the amount of people who look disappointed when I say it's a boy & that it's not twins. No I am not upset & I love having boys. My mil keeps telling people I'm having triplet girlsHmm
