Help worried about crop spraying

I was at my parents for lunch and the field right next to them was being sprayed. When I was leaving I made sure the tractor was at the far end of the field and went to my car v quickly. But when I got home I started panicking that I may have breathed something in. Iam 5 weeks pregnant. Should I be concerned ? I am really panicking! Thanks.

I really wouldn't worry I grew up next to fields that were regularly sprayed and I'm fine. Was probably in the garden as a baby whilst they did it.

At 5 wks baby isn't getting anything from you - the placenta is forming & its feeding off the yolk sack.

Most sprays are tested and are considered safe enough; I appreciate that sometimes problems are discovered too late for some people, but I imagine most farmers want to keep their pesticide/fertiliser on the crops where its of use, & limit the amount going into the air where its a waste of money.

Please calm down. You have another ~35wks of potential worrying/environmental hazards. If you are going to freak out over every little thing, you should either give up now & go & live in a bubble, or invest in a gas mask!!! I'd personally be more worried about the constant inhalation of car exhaust fumes, particularly diesel ones, than crop spraying, & it doesn't stop me walking along the street at 12wks pg & with my DD in her buggy!!!

Thanks for the replies, I googled straight after, I know i shouldn't have and it got me wound up. Some pesticides can cause birth defects if you are exposed in the first 8 weeks of pregnancy. However I have calmed down a bit as i realise the likelihood of me having breathed some is small.
