Almost 35 weeks have c-sec booked for 3 weeks time. Baby has turned breech -- I've got and had the most awful stabbing/nagging pains down below and whenever the baby moves I have to catch my breath and could cry from the pain. This is my fourth child, am genuinely struggling and not sure if it's a case of 'grin and bear it ffs you're making a fuss' or that this pain and discomfort will justify a trip to the mat unit.
Doesn't help that I don't sleep anymore either. Back pains are not regular by sore when they come, the pain down below is immense .... Started again
Help!?!

You are nearly at the end just a few short weeks and you'll be sniffing wonderful newborn baby head

It is horrible when baby moves into a funny position. I spent Wednesday evening clutching a long pillow rocking on all fours on our bed trying to encourage my baby to shift to a less painful position. It worked and I woke up Thursday, able to breath and move easily again.

Could your ring your midwife for advise and in the meantime trying crawling around on all fours or leaning over a pillow or birthing ball to try and open up your pelvis and encourage baby to shift.

Good luck and I hope baby shifts position soon.

not too sure how much help this will be, but my baby was in breech position right up until 36w. TBH, it didn't cause me any discomfort, but I still wanted him turned before labour, so I got some exercises off the web (some on here recommended spinning babies website, and I also found lots about Moxibustion which apparently has an 80% success rate. It is a form of accupuncture where they smoulder some herbs under your little toe - I didn't need to do it as baby had turned after exercises, but lots say it really works and a local maternity unit here have recently set up a clinic, so must be good. As for the stabbing pain, my pal had this on child no 3 (no pain on child one or two) and at times the pains would almost make her fall to the ground and it bought tears to her eyes - maybe as well as the little feet booting you down there, it is a repeated pregnancy thing?? I get minor pains and it bloody hurts, so i feel for you. Hope you can manage to find some relief, sorry i can't offer a cure - maybe someone will come along who knows of such:) Good luck!

Thank you both, much appreciated. Last movements/pain had me call the mat unit and said although it may be baby on nerves etc they'd ask I come in as a priority due to c-sec history etc... So off I go in a minute.
Thanks again

I sympathise. I am only 29 weeks, but baby is/has been breech and on one side, he kind of sat on my hip sticking his bum out of my side and stamping on my bladder/cervix.
Take a look at the spinning babies website (google will bring it straight up) they have lots of info about repositioning babies. I have been doing forward inversions off the sofa, not to turn him (too early really) but to encourage him into a more comfortable lie, just once or twice a day for a couple of minutes, and after a week or so, I am pretty sure he has moved around, I don't think he has turned yet, but his back is more towards my front which is a lot more comfy.
