Hip pain at 29 weeks - SPD or just bloody uncomfortable?!

Over the past few weeks it has become more difficult for me to sit in one position for long, as my right hip protests hugely when I get up and move about. It usually subsides then but sometimes aches when I'm walking too (usually if I do too much).

I also woke up this morning unable to put much weight on my left foot as that's aching as well!

Is it SPD or are my joints just enjoying their relaxation time? I'd ask my GP/midwife but I know they'll just say aches and pains are common in pregnancy Hmm

Would appreciate any advice/reports of similar experiences!

Thought I'd reply as no one else has though not sure if I can help.
I have similar problems- I get excruciating hip pain in bed and nothing I can do helps other than sleeping completely sat upright (which is tricky). I end up having to turn over throughout the night. Oh said I turned 10 times in an hour the other day.
Also get pain if I sit at a desk for a while or if I do too much.
I don't know if it's spd. I mentioned it to midwife she said its hormones relaxing all the joints and if I want help I'll have to pay privately for a physio.
Today I found it difficult to put weight on my left leg. Hoping it doesn't get worse as I'll just have to stay on the sofa for the next 11 weeks!

People suggest sleeping with pillows to support your bump and between knees and where a support. Non have helped me but they might.

Please girls,
Be pushy and get referred to a physio who can assess you properly and tell you if it is spd, (also called PGP) and give you whatever treatment they can.
I suffered needlessly through months of similar pains before getting advice from a physio the first preg and so when it recurred I took none of the "lets wait and see' suggestions and calmly and politely asked to be referred to physio straight away.
Pumpkin if MW is difficult get doc or consultant to refer you or gor to a walk in pregnancy clinic and tell them your symptoms.
Midwives often dismiss it- my doctor picked mine up thank goodness. What does it matter if it turns out it isn't anyway but needs trained person to make that call for you. Also either way start doing aqua aerobics NOW - only thing that has consistently helped me and good for you anyway,
good luck Smile

I am also 29 weeks and have been getting hip pain, can't lie on either hip for very long during night, and have to alternate between hips then sleeping propped up on my back to ease the aching.

Yesterday my right hip ached all day, helps a bit to walk about, but still bloody uncomfortably.

I really hope it isn't the start of of SPD, but will mention it to MW.

I totally agree with Maiziemonkey. I have changed MW as the first one just wouldn't listen to me. You have every right to get proper medical care. Stand firm & get what you need. My doctor has been brilliant about it & couldn't refer me quick enough. It may be a mum thing

Sounds like spd to me. I had it really bad. Need 2 c ur midwife ASAP cause physio list usually long if she feels u need referred. In meantime try not 2 lift anything heavy. Watch how u sit (don't cross legs) and sleep with pillow between ur legs. Hope this helps.

Having gotten even worse since my message here, can I suggest you try swimming. I saw my physio who said she's happy to manipulate but doesn't think it would be as beneficial before the birth as after. Someone I met suggested swimming & I can't tell you how much difference it has made. I swim for about 30 minutes most days & although I am still on crutches most of the time, I don't need painkillers & I the stairs are no longer an instrument of torture.
Maybe a combo of both would help
